"Much better than expected!" on by arlo_bigsley

Pros: *Set now includes the unifiying USB reciever
*Very smooth keys on keyboard easy to type on
*Many buttons on both mouse & keyboard makes computer use easier and quicker
*Super fast scroll wheel very helpful

Cons: *Gloss black keyboard frame matches my laptop and printer but just like them shows dust like crazy. Each morning i wipe down all devises of much dust that collects day and night!
*Mouse is erganomicly for right handers only

Summary: I am a CAD drafter and put in about 50hrs a week on my computer. Keyboards and mice do not last long in my office (1-2 yrs tops). Because of my demanding use on this type of product and my constant need to replace them I have become quite the skeptic. I was pleasantly surprised by the MK700, however, I did just purchase this item so as for longevity, I cannot make any claims. In terms of ease of typing this keyboard is at the top of my list. The buttons are responsive with a soft smooth touch and easy to find with my fingertips. The quick access (shortcut) function buttons can be set to always on which makes them useable without having to hold down the FN button. I like this because now I can access many programs and folders that I use often with a single push of a button. One thing that could be a problem for some is that many of those shortcut buttons share the F1-F12 buttons so if you use F1-F12 a lot then you may not want the quick buttons always on. I like the dedicated calculator and CD/DVD ROM eject buttons because I use those often and on my laptop DVD ROM the tiny little eject button sucks.
To correct an earlier post, the kit I purchased in November of 2010 DOES come with the unifying USB receiver. The receiver is very small and perfect for laptop users and the kit also comes with a special USB extender so if you are using a desktop the receiver can be plugged into the "included" extender wire and positioned so you get the best reception.

Let's talk about the mouse. The mouse is the MK705 using Logitech's "Performance Laser". I have tried it on a myriad of surfaces and it seems to work flawlessly on all surfaces i have tried. Some of those surfaces are mouse pad, wood grain plastic laminate desktop, paper, glossy book surface, micro fiber couch arm. This mouse does not work on glass. In terms of functionality, luckily I am right handed because as another reviewer pointed out the mouse is not reversible. For right hander's the mouse is quite functional and has many customizable shortcut buttons. The fast scroll wheel is wonderful for those long documents and can be turned on or off with a press of a button located near the wheel. This scroll wheel has all the newer standard functions and will scroll (wheel) up, down and (click) side to side with a tilt of the finger. The wheel is also a (middle) button which can be pressed down. Some of my older mice had a mind of their own and would scroll side to side inadvertently when the wheel was pressed down which was frustrating. Not the MK705! It seems to do what I tell it to do rather that what it wants to do. This is critical for me because I use the middle button a lot.

Bottom line this is a nice keyboard (anyone) and mouse (right hander's) combo. I would certainly recommend to anyone, who like me, have only purchased combos in the 50-70 dollar range. Spend a little more ($100.00 for this set) and you will find that with this kit, you get what you pay for.

PS. Please, if you get the kit and it does not work right out of the box like mine did, take it back and exchange it rather than immediately write a bad review.

"Never Ending Battery Life!" on by KPM171

Pros: Did I mention battery life?? Comfortable keyboard, useful funciton keys, customizeable mouse functions, & very easy to use software. The price point is/was excellent for this combo.

Cons: I'd like the keys & LCD to be back-lit, but other wise I have no complaints.

Summary: I'm using this desktop combo at the office to work with my dell docking station. Logitec products, I've noticed, offer an insanely long battery life and this set is no exception. The keyboard offers 3 years of battery life off of 2 AA batteries while the mouse offers 12 months off of the same. Toss in fully customizable commands, keys, and mouse features and you've got yourself one hell of a deal! I think this set has been replaced by the MK710, but for the money you save if you shop around a little for the MK700, it's well worth it.

"Good Keyboard/Mouse Combo. Bad Usability." on by claytech0522

Pros: It has nice keys, and the mouse is comfortable to hold. The hyper fast scrolling is also a good bonus.

Cons: Screen on keyboard adds too much height to the keyboard to fit under some drawers on desks. After less than a year, it starts to decrease in performance.

Summary: This keybooard works very nicely. I have owned it since January of 2010. Now, in August, the keyboard is starting to jam. When I type something, it delays and won't show up on the screen. Or, it adds extra letters on something. Much like it did above with the word "keyboard." I have repeaditly put new batteries in it, assuming the batteries might have been duds. Not fixing it. I think there is something wrong with it, and I am unhappy about it.

"So far, it's great." on by gflores911

Pros: Plug and play installation. Very comfortable keyboard and mouse. Soft-touch keyboard, very sensitive and speedy mouse.

Cons: Another user commented on erratic mouse behavior. I placed the US dongle in a USB hub that happened to be closer to the mouse and keyboard....problem solved. A little distance and nearby objects affects wireless reception.

Summary: It's my first wireless keyboard and mouse. So far I am very happy with it and will recommend it.

"comfortable, accurate, smooth, excellent key response" on by ljboss

Pros: Very easy setup, outstanding battery life (if you believe Logitech, which I ususally do). New improved keyboard tilt leg structures. logical function keys preprogrammed. Mouse is terrific.

    Cons: Silly battery level guage.

Summary: Best keyboard and mouse I have ever used on PC's since 1985, with a few Macs along the way.
