"Packed with features and ergonomics" on by lannadelarosa

Pros: Unique keyboard features, very comfortable mouse and keyboard

Cons: I don't use half the features on the keyboard, the keyboard doesn't integrate well with iTunes, and the oversized delete key is annoying.

Summary: This is my first high-end keyboard and mouse set.

I'm impressed with how comfortable the ergonomic features are. The curve of the keyboard is subtle enough that you don't feel like you have to re-learn how to use the keyboard. It's a nice compromise from the standard box-like keyboards and the split-and-curved ergonomic keyboards.

I like that the keyboard denotes ctrl key functions along the bottom of each key. So, on the V key, it denotes that it is also the Paste function, etc.

Additionally, all of the F* function keys are given special features... I've personally not used these at all. But it would probably be a great feature for those who prefer using their keyboard functions instead of their mouse.

I especially like that the windows calculator has it's own button by the numerical keypad. I use the calculator a lot, and this makes the process of calling the program up very swift and easy.

There are also a number of program launch and favorite keys along the left and top of the keyboard and you have the option to customize these with your favorite programs.

One thing I do wish is that the keyboard play/pause/ff/rewind buttons would integrate better with iTunes. These buttons work when you have iTunes maximised or in miniPlayer mode, but it doesn't work if iTunes is minimized in the tray. And it's only when the program is minimized in the tray do I find these keys useful. But, honestly, I wasn't expecting a Windows product to work at all with an Apples product. Consider me surprised that it (sort of) does.

My one real complaint about the keyboard is the arrangement of the delete/home/end/pg keys. The delete key is oversized and the home/end/pg keys have been shuffled around. Now every time I go to the use the home or end key, I find myself messing with the pg up and down keys before I realize the issue. I've had this keyboard for a month, and I'm still not use to it.

The mouse shape is amazing. It fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. I've never used a more comfortable mouse. The "magnifier" on the mouse is much appreciated. Now when I'm confronted with tiny web graphics, with one click, I can get a better look.

I've had no problems with it's wireless-ness. The connection never cuts off and the mouse never hangs. Nor does it appear to be a huge battery drain. After a month of using it, I'm still using the same original batteries.

All in all, this product is highly recommended by me.

"Not worth half the price!" on by daz3dpanda

Pros: Sleek Design, Laser Mouse has high dpi

Cons: Terrible Reception, Worst Enemy for Gamers

Summary: when it comes down to it, i wouldn't spend half the money of retail's price on this keyboard mouse combo. the design is very nice and both keyboard and mouse looks great together but the quality is shamefull. i've used several microsoft mice and i've always had no problems until i bought this set. there are times maybe every once a week that the reception just completly shuts down. about 70% of everything i type does not respond. i'm not sure whether it's the receptor or transmitter but it's very annoying. whether your playing a game it can be very frustrating or whether your typing a message out. it's very upsetting especially when all the other keyboards i bought in my life (much cheaper ones) never gave me problems like this.

"The mouse is great but it has the same delay problems as other MS wireless keyboards." on by mclark4448

Pros: The laser 6000 mouse is great because of the accuarcy

Cons: The wirless connection has range issues and the shift and cap lock keys have huge delay problems

Summary: I just bought this hardware to replace an older MS wireless keyboard and mouse combination and while the laser mouse is great, this has the same problems with wireless range and delay issues with the shift and capital lock keys. They have to be pressed 2 or 3 times to get the capital lock to turn on/off. Many times the beginning of a sentence is missing the capital letter because of the delay. I can’t tell if this is a software or hardware problem or both. I tried to get help from the self help site and Microsoft and couldn’t find anything about the problem. I have tried the hardware on 2 different PC's so that rules out the PC. I am going back to a wired keyboard....

"Excellent product, full of easy to use features!" on by mag1119

Pros: Ergonomics of both mouse and keyboard are great, plenty of bells and whistles that are functional and fun!

Cons: It is possible to have glitches and problems -albeit workable issues with fixes in most cases.

Summary: I first saw one of these in a local computer superstore and liked the look and gadgetry. It reminded me of the older ergonomic wired keyboards some of my office mates were clinging to in the office. Since my profession requires a great deal of computer time and on-line research, why not have a unit that was practical AND fun? Searched around for the best price and began checking reviews to see what these were like in the "real" world. As with any tech product, there will be praise and horror stories. Since the praise outweighed the horror from the review sites I respected, I took the plunge, and I'm glad I did! Easy to set up and get started, and I have not experienced ANY of the problems thus far, but we'll check back in a few months to be sure. Time is always the best judge. Keyboard is great once you get friendly with it, and I (being a toy and gadget person) love the hot keys and quick step functions. If nothing else, it keeps one from being bored. There's tons to do just to customize it and learn all the shortcuts and extras. The mouse is the smoothest I have used(fits the hand extremely well) and that is going back over two decades of computer time. For the people who rant at the ergnomics, why would you buy one in the first plsce to complain about it? The MS curved keyboard has been vastly improved from the large space in the middle days, and you see what it looks like before you buy it, correct? For those that complain about lag and connectivity issues, these are usually things that positioning and experience can rectify. I have had none of those issues. The only thing it did do wrong was upset the screen saver and that has a workaround to correct it if need be. All in all it is a wonderful product for the price - and a blast when you can find them for less than the common retail. I am very pleased with this product and consider it money WELL spent. I like being able to control so many functions from right at the keyboard, I surf a lot, and it makes it easier and more enjoyable. For all of the complaints MS receives, this is one product they got right!!

"Works brilliantly -- great mouse!" on by kwmseattle

Pros: Comfortable and accurate mouse, no wire clutter, useful keyboard shortcut keys

Cons: Wrist pad is a bit slippery... might be because it is still fairly new.

Summary: I felt compelled to write my review based on some of the negative reviews left for this wireless keyboard/mouse set. For those who complain about the key press lag time you should remember you are supposed to use either the USB plug or PS/2... NOT BOTH! The instructions state that you will experience delays if you plug in both cords.

I've plugged in my wireless receiver using the USB cable and have had no problems with lag. The keyboard doesn't miss a beat -- each key I hit is registered immediately. The comfort curve is nice... especially if you're like me and don't like the "split" ergonomic keyboards.

The mouse is incredible! Before purchasing this keyboard/mouse combo last week I've owned the same mouse (and its smaller notebook-size cousin) for about 6 months. The mouse is very comfortable and the tracking is incredibly smooth. The mouse feels large, yet fits in my hand nicely. A very relaxed fit.

I work with spreadsheets a lot and I've found the vertical and horizontal scrolling via the scroll wheel to be quite useful. I have the side buttons set to Back and Forward for browsing, but this is customizable.

I'm careful not to rate something a perfect 10 unless is really IS perfect. But the wireless laser desktop comes mighty close! I highly recommend picking it up if you spend a lot of time working on a computer.
