"Great and impressive keyboard."
on by joegarroPros I find this device can take a beating. The price is right. The devices roars out quality.
Cons None. I'll use this as a wishlist. Maybe have the ability to change colors and on selective keys.
Summary I enjoy the craftmanship of this keyboard. being on the computer late night and having those lights makes it a device I wish I had for a long time before. For now I'm a proud owner.

"Overall a pretty decent keyboard."
on by Mergatroid ManiaPros Cherry blue mechanical keys, blue backlighting, heavy weight, responsive.
Cons Shift functions on keys are not backlit, odd font for R makes me mistake it for a T sometimes, no separate keys for media (must use a function "shift" key with a function key). Volume control is just buttons (tap tap tap...listen...tap tap tap).
Summary I love this keyboard for typing. I love the Cherry Blue keys even though they are very loud. I had to have backlights because of the darker area where my computer is and this fits the bill. The glossy surface is a bit of a pain though but I can put up with it because the keyboard is so nice. Oh yeah, it has some macro keys too (don't use em myself). I would highly recommend this keyboard for anyone looking for a backlit mechanical keyboard that makes lots of clackity noises while typing. Note that rubber o-rings are available on-line for reducing the noise, and you can even get replacement keycaps for Cherry keys (although no laser etched backlit keycaps are available that I know of). Very nice over-all keyboard.

-braided cable
-50+ million keystrokes life expectancy
-great tactile feedbackCons -no wrist rest
Summary overall the <a href="http://razerblackwidowreview.com>Razer Blackwidow</a> is a great keyboard. The only downside of this is no wrist rest but it seems that the keyboard can go without it.

"worth the money!"
on by SASQUATCH5000Pros clicking noise very responsive. has a gaming button that disables the windows key so you don't hit it while playing games. very simple to set up macros. and its blue black-lit makes it good value
Cons glossy finish around the keys does attract finger prints but that's a small price to pay for this sweet keyboard.
Summary its a a good keyboard and it has solid build, and a all around good keyboard

"Black widow : Responsibly priced mechanical keyboard"
on by magikwizardPros Tactile feedback
short throw cherry mx blue switches
fully programmable keyboard (this includes all character keys as well as the dedicated keys)
storage of 10 profiles
5 back light settings off - glowing
on the fly macro programming is a snapCons I have no current problems with this keyboard
Summary The Razer Black widow ultimate is one of the most affordable back lit mechanical keyboards on the market. Although is it geared to the gamers i find this keyboard to be great for long periods of typing and programing.
A mechanical keyboard is very different then the keyboards you currently use. A standard keyboard works of a membrane dome system when you depress the keys. What this means is that you must fully press down a normal keyboard key in order for it to register the action on screen.. A mechanical keyboard has dedicated switches that are behind each key. The result is that you get a tactile feedback letting you know that you have pressed down a key as well as the clicking sound. The difference is that you will be touching keys to type rather then having to fully press a key down. This also means there will be no ghosting of keys that would might find with other gaming as well as vanilla keyboards.
The Black widow is also rated at 50 million keystrokes per key which means you will be owning this keyboard for a very long time.
The Ultimate edition also gives you a usb run through port so that you can plug a mouse in and has a long enough cord that you can use this at distances that a cheap wireless keyboard would work at.
It also offers whats known as a gaming mode feature that allows you to turn off the windows key during gaming sessions.
Each key has its own dedicated led ensuring that you will have a nice bright lit keyboard with the lights turned off which is the main reason i hunted this keyboard down.
the design of the keyboard is very similar to the old mechanical keyboards that computers came with this means that the keys are all tiered and there is a nice curve to the keyboard making it much easier to type and reach keys all across the board.
If you have never used a mechanical keyboard you owe yourself a chance to try one out. There is alot of quality in the way Razer designed this keyboard down to the lazer etched keys
