Saitek II Eclipse is a GREAT Keyboard

Pros: .I have had mine over a year... its great for playing in low or no light. with the three color choices you can pick the color that works best for you. I am on mine almost constantly in low light and have had no problem at all with it....

Cons: ..for me there is no cons that I have found or noticed..

Review: ..I like the fact you can change the backlit color & it also has a dimmer button so you can increase or decrease the the intensity of the light....

Great Keyboard And Is Very Durable

Pros: This keyboard is amazing. It has very good response time and is very easy to see in the dark. It only has 2 levels of brightness so it isn't as fancy as the newer lit keyboards but for the price you get an easy to use and very well built keyboard.

Cons: None so Far and i have had this keyboard for 2 years now.

Review: Overall a great keyboard with a good looking design with an incredible price. If you want a keyboard for playing games in to the night without straining your eyes and are on a budget buy this keyboard. You won't be disappointed.

Great keyboard, but...

Pros: Great feel, backlighting, solid construction

Cons: Paint on keys wears off

Review: This is an excellent gaming and general purpose keyboard, and the backlighting really works well. Except once the paint starts to wear off frequently used keys. Saitek was very good about replacing the first one after about 3-4 months had rendered the 'e', 't', 's', 'w', 'l' and a couple of other keys illegible. However, the exact same thing happened with the replacement, so it appears to be endemic to the board. It's still a very good board, but a better paint job would have made it near perfect.

It glows a wicked blue....

Pros: Illuminated keys, volume buttons, cool blue color, fast response

Cons: Spacebar is flimsy, makes old people afraid, roomates jealousy is annoying

Review: I've had this keyboard for 3 months now, and I love it. I dismantled it and put a clear coat on it so that the grey laser-etched characters wouldn't come off. Now it's all shiny and smooth. The response is great and it makes people jealous. I found the large spacebar a little flimsy, but I got used to it and I like that its ovesized and it doesn't hurt my thumbs. It matches my Razer Copperhead perfectly. Goes good with a Sansa e200 as well.(or anything with a blue led) Very satisfied, this thing made me give up my old packard bell ps/2 keyboard from '91( I really, really hate the windows key). This is my second keyboard. Maybe I'll convert my old keyboard to USB when the leds burn out.

Good board at a good price!

Pros: It looks frickin cool! illuminated keys, dedicated volume buttons, full size keyboard and dimable illumination.

Cons: Grey paint on the keys will rub off, keyboard doesn't sit very high up and illumination is a little weak when used in front of large monitors.

Review: This is a very well built board and looks absolutly awsome. I've owned this board for about 7 months now. As far as its mechanical workings, mine has been a trooper since day one. I do alot of online gamming and lots of web programing so I sit in front of my screen alot..... in the dark alot too (yes I know its not good for me!). This is one of the main reasons I purchased this board. The illumination is nice, but if you have a big monitor like I do ( 22 inch. ), the light tends to wash out the keys alot. Since I type so much the grey paint is rubbing off of my keys now and making my a, n, e, t, s and w keys look like blobs. Lastly, the hight of this board needs some help, seriously it does..... I have to put about 2 cd cases under each side to give it enough lift to be comfortable. Aside from all that this thing is very solid. Altho my next board will be a deck!

Very Very good keyboard.

Pros: Awesome Blue light, volume buttons, Modern design, great complement to any gaming rig. The keys are very quiet, laptop worthy.

Cons: some cases the paint wears off.

Review: I've just bought this keyboard about 5 days ago, and I am extremely pleased. It's a great complement to my Razer Copperhead mouse. The lighting is incredible, i get gasps from everyone who sees it. A Must buy for those late night gaming sessions, and the light turns off for the daytime! i would definately shell out $60 bucks for any keyboard like this.

Highly Recommened

Pros: Back Lighting, Comfortable, Attractive

Cons: sometimes a bit pricey

Review: I have used this keyboard for about a year now and still appreciate the comfort. The back lighting was my primary reason for choosing it, however the comfort is why I appreciate it so much. They keys are smooth, consistant, easy to position your hands on without looking, etc.. At the time I purchased it the price was over $60, but I believe it is much less now and would recommend it to anyone considering it.

What I've been looking for....

Pros: Backlight with dimmer

Cons: No shortcuts

Review: Great for night time to see the keys with other lights off. Would like to see other keys added for shortcuts, favorites, and maybe a wheel for scrolling. But till it's improved, I'll live without the extras to have the lighted keyboard.

Awesome Gamer's Keyboard!

Pros: Able to game in the dark, solid construction

Cons: my '8' key has poor response and needs to be mashed in order to work...

Review: I've had my Eclipse for about 6-months now. The grey paint job is wearing off the keys in places and the illumination is showing through. As I said before, the '8' key has poor response and needs to be mashed in order to respond...not good for a hardcore gamer (I make sure the hotkey for that button isn't crucial). I guess I could have mailed it back to Saitek (I had to mail order it, as I am active duty military, stationed in Germany), but this was the best gaming keyboard I could find and am very reluctant to surrender it, faulty key and all (and waiting 2-months for a new Eclipse is out of the question).

Very solid build, just like it's brother the PC Gamer's Keyboard (the one I am typing on right now). The Eclipse is bling bling with my SN25P Shuttle, at LAN parties, and being able to see they keys (no - I haven't completely memorized where the keys are yet) in the dark is useful for staying alive and communicating (I have started using Ventrilo and comms via typing has been greatly reduced, hehe). The PC Gamer's KB just doesn't cut it - it has illumination, but is only good in low-light gaming, -vs- the Eclipse, which draws gasps, ooh's and aah's from anyone looking in my direction while gaming.

'nuff said?

Great backlit keyboard, lacks most media player buttons

Pros: solid feel, volume and mute buttons

Cons: lacks most media controls: play, pause, ff, rew

Review: Solid feel to it. I'd recommend it if you can live without hotkeys to get email or control your audio or video player. It would be the perfect keyboard if it had "email" and media controls.

The almost perfect keyboard

Pros: Great backlight. Slick look. Nice feel. Easy/simple controls.

Cons: Not ergonmic. No multimedia keys except volume controls.

Review: This keyboard is unbelievable. It is really great for gaming with its backlight and ingame volume control. My only gripes are that it doesn't have multimedia controls or ergonmic keys.
