Excellect quality printing with 600DPI
Very fast
Easy to work with if you know what you are doing

Easy to network (hardwire)
Great label sensor
Reliable - I have insta

Cons

Little pricey - $4k range - (IMHO the savings in time for label setup and reduction if issues though and it is worth it)
For the price I wish it had wireless networking.
Wish the label gap sensor was easier to get to and adjust as I swap label stock oft

This printer is a bi-directional printer which means that it can receive data from label printing applications and also send data back to the label printing app. This printer is designed to work with Teklynx label printing applications such as Codesoft & Label Matrix which are #1 in the industry. In fact up until Dec 2011 Brady used to own Teklynx which is why their software and this printer work well together. As long as you are using the printer in "Brady mode" (ie Brady IP-Enabled ribbon and Brady IP-Enabled label stock) and also your label printing application is a Teklynx product you will be very impressed with this printer. Even if you are not using the printer in "Brady Mode" setting up custom size labels are easy as long as you know what you are doing. However, the central factor in any label printing process is the label printing application. If you are using an inferior software (aka Bartender) you will have noting but problems no matter what printer you use. Bottom Line: This is an excellent printer for any operation as long as it is setup and maintained by someone who knows what they are doing. When setup properly using good labeling software and the correct stock even novice end users (ie manufacturing, shipping, receiving, ) will have no problems for years of troublefree use.

"NOT what u think, still needs margin & Info 2 print"

Pros

This printer does NOT work as advertized

Cons

This printer does NOT work as advertized. You STILL need to give it margin and page and label parameters to work. The easey-to-use is not so easy you have to be ready to pull your hair out every time you load a new label

The printer uses RFID to identify the label stock and ribbon. It's easy to load and changeover for high mix/low volume printing.

The printer doesn't give print WYSIWYG how the label is designed in the software. We continually have to move the text around in the software in a trial and error fashion until we get it where it should be.

Another problem Brady has not addressed is that label text gets cut-off at the bottom. Printing two or more lines will have the last line cut in half. Brady tech support sent me several printers and they all did the same thing. After a lot of fiddling with the settings I can get an acceptable result. It's not hassle-free.
