  • "Exceeded my expectations"
    on by niftyguy

Pros fast, easy to set up, great mobility, inexpensive

Cons uses two USB ports, power draw might challenge older computers

Summary I have used my Maxtor One Touch III 160 GB for over a month now, and it has really exceeded my expectations especially in its speed and ease of use. It is every bit as quick as a powered external hard drive that I have, and I cannot really tell the difference between it and the system hard drive. Fantastic little piece of hardware! Why buy a thumb drive when you can get 160GB for a little more? I bought my drive at Circuit City with a $15 coupon for final cost of $85. Problem: I did have one problem. My computer is older and it seems was really challenged by the power draw of the two USB connections (you can check Google for more on this). I ended up adding a USB upgrade card to my desktop to solve this problem (which I had with other devices as well, IPod, etc). No problems at all with my newer laptop. I would highly recommend this little drive!!
