Cons Stopped working, lost all data, bad customer service and warranty offers the precise opposite of what the buyer would want: another unit, but not data recovery.
Summary It crashed on me and I've lost all the data this thing was backing up. Just switched jobs and therefore the unit became my primary data holder temporarily, which is when it stopped working. Only 2 months old. Worthless customer support and warranty, which will replace the unit but won't provide data recovery. Yeah, I want another one to store the data I don't have anymore. Paperweight is best description. NIGHTMARE. Lost all personal and professional data. Part of customer support's brilliant advice was to tell me to purchase a power adapter which didn't solve the problem, so even more money down the drain. Just a horrible experience all around.

Cons I'm not sure I like the back up program it came with so I use GoodSync as I like to keep all my stuff in a folder like my hard drive has it. When I delete or MOVE a file to the simpleTech it stays there even if I delete it from my laptop

Cons Company takes no responsibility for defective product. Any information you had will be lost and they will not help replace! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR FROM THIS COMPANY! They will rip you off!
Summary It ended up being defective and I had to send it out to recover my material. The company DOES NOT offer any form of recovery service and if you take it somewhere to get your material recovered from someone else, it voids the warranty and you will not get a new product. They take no responsibility for their product being defective or for the fact that their defect product could have made me lose irreplaceable pictures. I am extremely upset with this product and this company. My suggestion is that you DO NOT BUY!

Cons Waste of money, waste of time, what a waste of a company, the guy in customer support should be fired for giving bad advice, wasting customer's time, and being just worthless.
Summary I love to save a few bucks, but man what a difference between a western digital vs. this POS company. The issues are just like the other review, had a problem called (30 minutes wait, then had not service for data recovery (in fact hung up me when I complained), then called back and still get cut off. Why save the money when you will pay for it in your time.
