"Fast, But Sync software is bogus"
Pros: Quick Read / Write times
Cons: Sync Software not good for backup
Summary: Purchased on sale @ brick & mortar store. I didn't give software interface a second thought, until AFTER I BACKED UP FILES using sync software.
When I got ready to restore files, I contacted customer support after having difficulty.
I was informed by WD tech support that "This isn't really designed to backup hard drive files, since the SYNC software is designed to SYNC files".
Since I had wiped my laptop hard drive, to restore system effeciency, tech informed me that if I didn't have the corresponding exact file names and location on C drive that SYNC software would recognize location and wouldn't transfer files. Tech suggested that if I wanted to use for backup that I purchase "Ghosting" type software.
If you want to utilize to backup a hard drive then use Windows Explore and copy files to WD Passport and steer clear of SYNC software.
Using the included copy function in SYNC software I still haven't been able to recover all the files yet!
THIS SYNC PROBLEM CAUSED ME TO RATE PRODUCT 4 (Mediocre) at best
