"Great Product Overall" on by HOVER

Pros: Everything you'd expect from a desktop laptop...

Cons: The video card can be improved.

Summary: This is a great notebook if you're looking for a good product with an outstanding price. Normally the performance you'd get from this laptop would cost you much more if you bought some other brand. I actually got it for $1,200 at Circuit City with a $100 rebate, and the next day I saw it in the papers for less than $1,000. Well, that's how the tech market is like so no regrets there. I remember when Acer used to be second class compared to other mainstream computers, but the company has really made some headway and it delivers top notch products that rival the more well known companies. It's got a crystal clear screen that's a good size, the battery lasts for around 3 hours, and it's so quiet you won't even know it's there. The WiFi is really helpful if you depend on the Internet (who doesn't?), and some of the software it comes with (Arcade, for instance) makes life easier. Everything about this laptop is awesome, the specs sums it all up pretty well. The only downside is that the video card isn't stellar, but then again laptops weren't meant to be super gaming machines (unless you get the Ferrari laptop or get it from Alienware or ibuypower, etc). Don't expect great gaming with this, there's no PCI Xpress slot, but the pros far outweigh the cons. Great for business, college, work, or whatever you'd need, not for the hardcore gamer.

    "Just fine!" on by ddunx46135

Pros: It does everything it needs to.

    Cons: Tinny speakers.

Summary: I bought it "refurbished", and hence cheap, with some trepidation, afraid that whatever was wrong with it didn't get fixed. If there's anything like that I haven't found it. It works fine, the battery life is good, and the wireless connection (which is why I bought this laptop) even pulls in my neighbor's signal. You won't want to listen to Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor through its speakers, but then that's not what they're for.

"Great laptop with less budget money" on by bju1962

    Pros: excellent performance by Acer

    Cons: lack of supportive software

Summary: Overall I am pretty happy with this laptop.
The performance are great. If it add more software like MS Works, Office..then it will be perfect!

Pros: 1gb ram, 100gb hardrive, good battery, wifi

Cons: No Firewire, No Infread, No Blue tooth

Summary: This laptop is pretty good though the design good be more inspiring it looks boring. Also where are all the ports you only get 3 UsB 2.0's. the laptop is quit and it has surpassed my expectations.

"Great for the Price" on by Jason328

Pros: Crystal Clear Display, Fast Chip, Good Battery Life

Cons: Lack of Ports, Useless Touchpad, No Real Volume Control

Summary: The first thing I noticed about this computer is the crystal clear display. The keyboard is full size which is nice for my size 9 hands, but it's still not as good as a standard keyboard. As I mentioned above, the touch pad is useless, and there is no integrated pointer. A wireless USB mouse is a must have, unless you really like the touch pad. The 1.6Ghz 64 bit processor is more than enough to power through the mundane word processing tasks I need to do in school. This computer is definitely not a desktop replacement, but it's great for the price. The lack of ports docent really bother me too much, as this is primarily going to be used for school, but the lack of a volume dial is annoying. Apparently Acer used the same chassis with this computer and the next computer up the chain, which explains there are holes for many more ports, but they are all blanked off. It would have been nice if they had blanked off the Bluetooth button too. Other than small nitpickey things, this is a great computer for the price.
