"good buy at great price" on by snapdragon9
Pros: Compact, priced right. I like the fact there are 3 usb ports. Can browse the web, and watch streaming video quite well.
Cons: Windows 7 starter...don't plan on upgrading either, I can live without changing the background on the desktop. Upgradable memory cannot be done without voiding the warranty. Guess it would be nicer to have more detailed resolution too.
Summary: Great netbook, at a great price. So much competition in the netbook market, but the aspire one 532h delivers a lot of great features at a fraction of the cost compared to other models. Don't really use comps for gaming, or 3G so if that is up your alley look elsewhere. Battery life is tremendous.

"Exceptional machine. Highly recommended." on by ShoeShane
Pros: $298 off walmart.com
Surprisingly fast
Great battery life
Windows7 works superbly
..Lightning fast start-up
...Very user friendly
....No unnecessary configurations
Beautiful display
Love the touch-pad
Keyboard is quite manageableCons: Machine is incapable of rendering any HD video 780p and above--480p works sometimes on YouTube. This is a small complaint, I have found video-watching to be one of the best experiences about this machine--Netflix streaming is crystal clear.
Summary: I bought this Netbook for only $298 from Walmart.com. I was just looking for a cheap portable machine for school. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this computer is way more than just an internet machine.
It was a breeze to download and install all of my favorite programs like firefox, itunes, and open office to name a few. Surprisingly, I have found that I can run multiple programs at the same time without a hitch.
Connecting to an external monitor was very important to me so the included VGA port was a must. I own a 19 inch LCD monitor. And it only takes a couple of seconds to plug it in and enjoy all of the extra screen space. I get optimal resolution. After plugging in a mouse and keyboard and speakers, its just like having a full-fledged desktop.
Windows7 starter is perfect. Microsoft actually did a very good job at making a light but still powerful OS for mini-laptops. You get all the features you need and none of the ones you don't.
The Keyboard can be clunky and I'm still hitting the wrong key on occasion but that's what you get on any netbook, I'm sure.
Also, watching HD video does not work. The frame-rate drops immediately. Standard definition works flawlessly, however.
It's a small price to pay (literally). I highly recommend this netbook to anyone. -
"Nice netbook, expectations met..." on by Ballstar1982
Pros: The battery life is awesome. I was expecting more lag with the system performance, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how smooth it runs. Powering up the system is quick and programs load quickly. Do the research on netbooks before purchase plz
Cons: The touch pad is a little jumpy, considering disabling the gestures as they are more annoying than helpful. Fingerprint and smudge magnet. Screen is a little pixleated at certain angles, but tolerable.
Summary: I went into a store looking to buy another netbook that I had researched, but it was out of stock. I needed the netbook ASAP so I found the Acer at the same price point and the same specs that I was looking for originally. Very pleased with my purchase. When my wife and I look into replacing a or current full-size Toshiba laptop which has been very good to us, I definitely think it will be with an Acer. I like the design style of the computers as well as the battery life.

"A very good bargain!" on by AbhaUCLA
Pros: 1. Lightweight
2. Sturdy
3. Excellent battery lifeCons: 1. Slow (But that's because I use this as my only computer currently)
Summary: I have had this netbook for 18 months now. I am an engineering student and this is the only computer I own. Admittedly, it is slow, as I use it as a full-size laptop with heavy programs running on it sometimes. But for a netbook, I think its great! I have had no major problems with it so far. The touchpad can give problems sometimes, as you can accidentally touch it, as you are typing. I have relatively small hands and I touch-type. Hence, the keyboard is very convenient for me to use. The keyboard, however, may be a problem for some.
But overall, a great buy (for $279)! -
"Worst thing I have ever bought in my life" on by CookieVang
Pros: It's small and easy to carry around.
Cons: Extremely slow. I waste my time for it to load than do actual work. Needs a CD/DVD player. It has crashed so many times! Camera is horrible.
Summary: Do not buy this at all. This was my first Acer product, and now I have a bad impression of Acer and refuse to buy another Acer ever again.
