Great value
Pros: Athlon 64 processor, fast Radeon 9700 graphics
Cons: Hard drive; could use more RAM
However, my original hard drive (a Toshiba) failed after a few months. Replaced under warranty by Acer very quickly with a Hitachi drive that is a lot quieter, cooler, and faster (even though it is still the same RPM speed drive). It seems the Toshiba drive has been giving a lot of people problems.

A true digital hub!
Pros: With the four USB 2.0 ports, fast and reliable DVDRW, wireless options and the decent video card, this gives me everything I need for my uses and more
Cons: Hard drive is slow, no doubt about it, and the battery life is abysmal

I'm on my 3rd Hard Drive
Pros: Looks great. The finish is top notch fitting of the Ferrari name. Excellent video performance.
Cons: Has serious design issues... heat dissipation and hard drive reliability being the most serious. Bought this for my son to use in school back in July 2004 and have had send it in for service 3 times. So far they have replaced memory, motherboard, and 3

Good machine for the $$$, C/NET misses many points!
Pros: AMD mobile 64 CPUs are usually easily overclockable by 10-15%; it's not until page 3 of the review that C/NET admits their tests are biased towards Intel. Great ergonomic keyboard, snappy performance on games, the BEST wifi reception of any machine I've
Cons: Other comments say you can't keep wifi off - not true! It's a software setting as well as a hardware switch. Real cons are that upgrading the memory in the second slot (under the keyboard) is not for the faint of heart, and Acer's Web site basically blo

HDD failure
Pros: good dvd drive, and fast video card. great for graphic programs.
Cons: left palm area gets very hot. don't put this on your lap. it blocks the CPU fan grill. My Hdd failed after i heard click sounds come from the drive. tried to recover at the lab. not recoverable. When I sent it in for service, there were 2 other 3200'

Ideal for me
Pros: Runs every game I have all within playable speeds. (even Everquest 2). Don't really understand peoples complaint about it being formatted to Fat32 since Microsoft offers a free utility to auto-convert to NTFS that takes only minutes to run. Mines been NTF
Cons: Does run a little hot, but in comparison is also much quieter than some cooler running ones. Also slightly susceptible to scuff marks because of the auto-style paint coat. I also wish that Acer would date it's drivers on the support page so it's easier to

Best laptop out there... period
Pros: Great features. Can handle NBA Live 2005, Need for Speed Underground 2 and Farcry with the visual options topped out... enough said. I am a programmer and this machine compiles visual studio apps quickly as well as eclipse apps and flash and other macrome
Cons: The left Palm rest gets really hot after about an hour or so (less if you are playing doom 3 or something like that). I recommend you get a laptop cooler for home use.

Too hot to handle ???
Pros: Despite racing pedigree the ferrari keeps going and going. Graphics are superb and design is excellent.
Cons: Acer would not replace xp home with xp pro shortly after purchase despite my offers to pay the difference. Ferrari can get a little too hot when gaming so have the fire extinguisher at the ready.

Cons: runs hot, should be even lighter.

Don't commnet when you don't know what you're talking about
Pros: 1. Someone stated there is NO way to change to NTFS. Reply - Wrong. Go to a cmd prompt and run convert. 2. Someone stated Under the current OS, performance is only slightly better than my AMD 2500+ HP laptop. Reply - The Beta version is a debug release an

AMAZING SYSTEM!!!!
Pros: Super Fast 64 bit processor, dvd+ and - rw. 128 megs of ram for the video card. Simply Amazing. Sure there is no support forum on Acer's website, but users can go to www.ferrari3200.com. Why don't you have this system yet?

Excellent features & performance
Pros: Great appeal. I use it for demos and it has all the features and flash I could ask for.
Cons: I'd like a higher contrast screen and a preloaded Linux partition.

Fastest Bang for Your Buck, Try Configuring a Sony or Dell With these specs and see what you pay.
Pros: I've been searching for a laptop for about a month now and I tried configuring Sony A series and Dell XPS but they ended up bein $4000 great configuratuions. That's could buy 2 of these bad boy ferraris and the Acer is smaller, lighter, beatifully designe
Cons: This laptop would be absolutely unbeatable for the price if it had a 15.4 WUXGA screen and a faster 5400 or 7200rpm hard drive. I agree with everyone else that the software bundle kinda sucks but there's so much potential in the Acer especially considerin

Just not ready for mainstream
Pros: Looks nice, nice specs.
Cons: Buggy software, only FAT 32 as mentioned somewhere else. Power supply inadequate for running computer and charging at same time. Definitely stay away from this 'race car' not road worthy!

Best notebook that you can find right now, full stop.
Pros: Athlon64 2800+, 80GB hard disk, 512MB RAM, Bluetooth, Wifi, Gigabit Ethernet, SXGA (1400x1050) LCD. Previously compile my project using Presario 955 (AthlonXP 2000+) with Visual C++ .NET take 3 minutes, but this super notebook manage to compile it within
Cons: 4200rpm hard disk, stupid Acer format it with FAT32 (my solution: get a WinXP Pro and reformat the whole system. All the driver is included in the System Disk, nothing to worry), hot on left palm rest.

Wait awhile before buying
Pros: Very appealing visually. Has all the latest options. First affordable laptop to include AMD's 64 bit processors. Really seems like a good value for the price.
Cons: Enhanced HD is only 4200 rpm. Factory installed software is on FAT 32 file systems with NO way to change to NTFS. Computer blue screened when I first powered up. Wireless LAN will not stay off, turns back on on each boot. Support does not yet exist, produ
