"About editor's review."
Pros: High-tech Notebook
Cons: Expensive Notebook
Summary: Editor wrote: "...the Acer Ferrari 5000 costs quite a bit more than competitive systems; an identically configured HP Pavilion dv6000z costs just $1,498...".
Hehe, those two systems are NOT IDENTICAL, in fact there is a big difference between them!
Processor, hard drive size,RAM memory size, video chipset and video memory, wireless network card and more....
Best regards.

"an identically configured" those are the key words. Nice user name BTW -
I have the Acer 4000, which I bought last year at this time. Many of my colleagues were getting Dell's and I opted to spend my budget on the Acer. They have continued to envy my sleek and beautiful machine, while having to put up with the vagaries of their Dell's. It has never failed me hardware wise. I use it every day and feel the premium paid is well worth it. If you don't like the software that comes with it, get something else that works. The hardware is great and looks so much better than other blah laptops. I liked the fact that it comes with all the options included. I use all of the ports when I'm in my home office.

the screen is grainy due to the video card... not the screen. The x1600's are notorious for graininess at times and this can be found on almost any forum. Any notebook equipped with this graphics card will have this problem (which is not really a big problem). On another note... this notebook is a bargain compared to the ASUS lambo. Like the car you pay for the badge, and unlike the lambo this notebook performs like how it should.
