Pros: very fast for a laptop, i have a 24gb of ram computer and its almost the same in a way ;)
Cons: It was first on vista and the rating of the system went lower when i upgraded it to windows 7? i havnt had any other issues. i even tryed installing new drivers but it didnt fix it.

Pros: Price and functions
Cons: 1) Finger print scanner software needs further development. It barely works. (real problem)
2) Wi-Fi needs to be reset about everytime this system is rebooted (minor annoyance); maybe they've or will create a software patch.Summary: I spent days getting my Acer 6292 functional; resolving problems with the ?finger print scanner software?. It?s poorly documented and "not" user friendly. I feel the Taiwan developers don?t understand the importance of having systems work out of the box. I'm worked on computers for 20 years and don't understand why Acer would release a product like this to market.

Pros: Quiet, ventilates heat well, very good quality with webcam and built in mic, well over 4 hours battery life for most uses, not overloaded with bloatware.
Cons: Draft N can be a bit squirrelly, comes with only 1GB DDR2 RAM, wish the screen could go 1-2 steps brighter, not a fan of the dual partitioned hard drive, no included recovery media but program is in place to create your own.
Summary: The one star reviewer probably had a lemon. I've had this laptop for over a year now and am very pleased and if you can still find 'em, it is hard to go wrong with this. It's been used, traveled a lot and has stood the test of time with a now year old baby since I do frequent video chats with grandparents. As is, it's able to handle multiple video streams and applications simultaneously. RAM is cheap, so upgrade. Touchpad is sensitive (neither a pro or con). Speakers are OK, there is a lot of tweaking you can do with the RealTek settings. The Acer Emanagment software to make recovery media is OK, though I prefer the ease of Acronis.

Cons: VERY HEAVEY. Loud fan noise that goes on and off, it is like working in an engine room. CD rom drive has separate noise that is also beyond belief, like being in a train station. full of bloadwear that causes system crashes. No support whatsoever. F-
Summary: This is hands down the worst computer I've ever owned. I should have returned it when I could. I've replaced it after just 5 months; all other comptuers I've kept for 2-3 years. I cant stress how bad the noise is, you've never heard anything like it in you life. keyboard is needlessly small, there is room on either side of the keyboard that isnt used. Heavy like a brick. even on an airplane people have complained to me about the noise. OS was buggy to start with, but no way to reinstall the OS. Absolutly 0 support from the company on their website. No way to even contact them. You wouidl be better off pouring your money in a hole and burring it. Never but this computer and I woudl suggest not buying from Acer in general. Get a 10" netbook or spend what it really costs to get a true ultraportable.

Cons: case scratches
Summary: The XP Pro version is everything I wanted and more. Lightweight, easy to use, well light screen make this a price worth paying. I paid less than $950 over two months ago. Buy it before Acer stops delivering XP on June 30, 2008
