Summary: I love this machine, but it's a lemon. I've been through two super drives in 2 years, I might have burned 10 disks in that time.
Now my battery is toast, and I don't mean like it's not holding a charge as long, I mean it's done! I've had laptops before and the battery always goes, but this is something else.
Apple is great at creating and packaging but their suppliers are not up to par. I've had multiple Thinkpads none have given me anywhere near this amount of trouble. I think with the latest Ubuntu, that may be the way to go next time. -

Summary: seriously,.. about half of these postings are written by dudes from Apple. I mean, who decides to write a review just to boast???
Most likely, people write to complain and get out the negativity,.. am I right or not.
In any case, I do not like windows much, and I prefer the mac above everything else, but honestly, the IBOOK quality is crap. And it seems like part of the marketing, to buy a titanium one. And in any case, (no pun intended), the price for a "warranty" on the Ibook is too much in proportion to the price. So people which do not get the warranty, are then stuck to buy a titanium one, and people which get the warranty are misers stuck with a low end Apple.
The plastic of Ibooks did get cheaper and thinner. WHY? cost cutting marketing so that the powerbook reigns supreme.
(I do not like Apple for having idiots write arrogant "reviews" to promote their reputation. Get real.) -

Summary: I have found my ibook very good for my needs, however I have problems with the logic board which has been replaced a number of times. This has been at the cost of apple due to the fact that it is a known problem.

Pros: Lightweight, fast, high quality screen, everything one could want comes with this machine.
Cons: RAM is skimpy - would like to have 500 mb built in when using Panther.
