Pros: Snazzy look
Cons: Fake green tech
Summary: (a) recycling aluminium takes a lot of electricity. Nobody is going to convince me that tooling the body of this notebook out of a chunk of aluminium (with the chips supposedly to be recycled) is more environmentally benign than stamping/rolling parts first, then assembling the body.
(b) I can replace almost anything on a regular HP or Dell. With an Apple, it's 20% max. A Mac is a repairsman's worst nightmare. Lots of custom-made parts, accessing some parts is next to impossible. Add the monolith unibody. Any damage to it is likely to be fatal. Put otherwise, the notebook will go to the dumpster because one cannot mend it. Fool's green it is.
