"The best apple laptop to date"
Pros: screen, no noise fan, .5lbs lighter than the old macbook, superdrive, longer lasting battery, 5x better speakers than the old macbook, VERY SEXY computer, extremely fast, nice video card. This computer outperforms the old macbook by a lot.
Cons: not sure how I feel about the new trackpad
Summary: first a little about me, I am a apple geek, I need to have every new product they get. My old computer was the white macbook and I loved it, by this new macbook opens a new world of possibilities.
First off the screen is unbelievably bright and responsive it also helps the computer provide you with a better battery life, since it uses LED's instead of the old technology. The finish of the screen is glass and it has a very sexy look to it.
The design of the laptop is by far one the best looking laptops in the market. Apple managed to lower the weigh of the old macbook by .5lbs and still make it .12 inches thinner than the old one. It feels much more solid than the older model and little more sturdy.
One of my complains about the old macbook was the loud fan when ever you would run an application with video or heavy pictures in it, this new one managed to lower the noise of the fan to almost go unnoticeable. I guess its both the video card and quieter fan. Either way they managed to fix that problem.
the speakers of the old macbook were very weak, they improved that by mounting better speakers in this one. It's much louder and the sound still comes out clean with out any noise.
Over all I am very excited towards the direction apple is taking and they just put a solid product in the market.
My one complain is the trackpad, I am still geting used to it, It's actually sort of a pain in the ass.
I do recommend this product to anyone, its awesome.

it doesnt outperform the old macbook like you said, they actualy put a slower CPU in this one.

About the heat; don't expect the computer to be cold like your refrigerator. As a matter of fact in my opinion the computer can transfer heat easier because of the aluminum casing. I know the fan operates much less than in the white macbook. There can be several reasons for this, it could be that the new graphics card its helping the processors when it comes to producing images.
The encloser stays at 92 degrees, now note that my computer is always on top of my blankets, I know stupid, but that how it is.
The heat is generated from the dualcore processor and they are hot processors. Fortunately they are not as hot as the processors mac used to use before they went to intel, those things were very hot. -
Thank you for the review. I am curious about the heat the computer produces. I have the a White Intel Based MacBook. I love it, but ofter spend nights on the sofa with it on my lap and it tends to get pretty hot. Do you notice a difference with the new design?
