"Pretty much, a near perfect computer."
Pros: Incredibly fast, universal binary programs are surreal in speed.
Cons: Gets sassy at times w/ Rosetta, no firewire 800 or Dual Layer DVD-RW
Summary: Let me say that this is my first mac, ever since the times of the ole green and black glory days of the macintosh. I have previously shunned macs because of their price and lack of support from many third party vendors but now I see why apple has an almost fanatic fanbase. The macbook pro booted up for me almost instantly, it booted up while my year old windows based notebook was showing me the windows xp loading bar.
I got the only macbook available the 1.83 ghz, and I will go so far as to say that 512mb of ram is too little for such a beautiful system. I will say that it's kind of putting a MacLauren F1 on a fixed track that only spans 400meters. That being said, I have ordered 2gigs of ram from crucial and I cannot wait to see how this baby cooks.
You can read how the techs stack up in other sites, and I am just going to say that the macbook has seemlessly fused with OSX "Tiger" and much like everything apple makes, is elegant and simply makes sense.

I can't say how happy it makes me to see more and more Windows Users come onto a brighter and greener side of the IT industry. "Don't sell yourself short by using Windows" I say. What is a Intel doing in a Mac Exactly? A lot more than it fricken did in those cheap boxes they call Dell. Hey, they sell them at Walmart for a reason you know windows user. Welcome to the family of Quality products which aren't independant on a Warranty! (You'll notice how Justin Jaffe is against Mac's and somehow finds a way to say that they are missing something i.e. TV Turner, Why on earth would you want one of those for, thats what Dell is there for, to occupy the User from bordom!!!
