    "Pure Genious"

    by callaghan001 on July 2, 2006

Pros: Fast, brilliant design, Excellent screen, Brilliant included software

Cons: You could fry an egg on the bezel after a lot of work.

Summary: I was a long time PC user and never really contemplated switching to mac until I saw the Mac book pro. Since recieving the laptop i have realised the futility of windows XP. My MBP (Mac Book Pro) has not once slowed down or crashed. The only time I had a problem was when I attempted to install windows XP SP2 through Boot camp. I recieved a blue screen of death followed by a restart, typical windows.

The MBP is brilliantly designed with the whole case measuring a awe inspiring 1" when closed. It includes an isight camera in the top of the screen and the display itself acts as a Flash when using the included photo booth programme.

iLife, Mac OS 10.4.7, Safari, Dashboard, and Photobooth are just some of the included brilliant programe. iLife is one of the best programes I have ever used. From itunes for music to imovie for all my home movies. Safari blows IE out of the water completely with its reliability and lack of error reports.

As you have probably heard from other reviews, the speed of this machine is unbelieveable. itunes launches in mere milliseconds while Mac OS itself launches in about 10-15 seconds.

Another interesting feature I found is voice activation. It seems like something out of star trek when you think of yourself saying from accross the room "Computer do X"
I find it personally handy to be able to say from accross the room "computer what time is it" and have the computer respond in a relatively normal voice.

The only con I could find in the MBP is the heat. When i was installing windows for example the heat was unreal. I would almost be sure an egg could be fried on the laptop case.

In conclusion, it is the best laptop I have ever had, and I have had quite a few. I would recomend this laptop for anyboady who is considering purchasing laptop either for PC or MAC. And for aybody who is undecided wether to stay with PC or switch to MAC just take the plunge and go MAC. I did and i dont regret it!
