"Best computer, with the worst battery, I've ever owned"
4.5 starson by dkheersinkPros: Everything except battery, this computer is so freaking intuitive
Cons: Um, did I mention the 3 hour battery life?
Summary: OK, but the thing about battery life is after checking a review of the new Core 2 Duo laptops and battery charge lengths, it seems to be comparable to Dell and Alienware laptops with Core 2 Duos. Aside from that, this computer is UNBELIEVABLE! My first Mac. I'm hooked.
This computer sizzles. I bought the $1999 version with 2.16 GHz and 1 GB of RAM and had Compusa put in an extra gig of Ram for an extra $100, so it's basically the same as the $2500 version but .16 GHz slower and half the video memory but $400 less. It is incredibly quick and I am having no problems running 10 different programs at once. I have been able to edit some video (much more easily than with my PC), work on a presentation, and surf the net with no delays what so ever.
I put Bootcamp (allows one to run Windows) and have found this computer to be faster at running windows than my 2.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM desktop computer even though I've run multiple programs.
The screen is unbelievable. It is so crisp and gorgeous, and changes in brightness based on the amount of ambient light in the room. The backlit keyboard is so nice, the trackpad's ability to scroll with two keys is very useful, and the speakers' clarity is better than any laptop I've ever heard.
The Mac programs are so intuitive. I've found myself smiling several times as it seems this computer is anticipating what I'd like to do next and basically does it for me. I know that's a vague thing to say, but it's true. I'm going to recommend this computer and Macs in general to everyone I know. I'm crazy about it and the only thing keeping me from giving it a 10 is the battery life (explanation nonwithstanding).
