Pros: I/O calibre that's hard to find.
Cons: Maybe, it could lose a half a pound, the next time round.
Summary: The MacBook Pro 15 brings together a combination of I/O, the stadards of which are hard to find on any one laptop.
The keyboard is as comfortable or more than those found on Lenovo ThinPads. The trackpad provides just the right smoothness and is not slippery. The speakers acoustically match up to the build quality of the laptop, which exceeds laptops in general. The screen though having the same resolution as its predecessors, offers colour density which I think users will find appreciable. It's more than just about pixel density, it's also the quality of glass that covers the screen which works very well.
I bought the 2.3GHz version. I did upgrade the RAM to 8GB and the hard disk to 7200rpm, which I understand will enable one to leverage the throughput of the i7 processor.
I chose this over he Retina, as I understand there are issues with the screen, including a yellow tinge and the screen's adaptability to Internet web sites which are not made with the Retina in mind. Furthermore, I also came across people who had USB connectivity issues with the Retina. I think we need to wait for Apple to refine the Retina, unless you are into professional artwork, video editing or photography.
