"Once you go Mac you'll never go back" on by Schwabd23
Pros: Very fast, never get "program not responding", shuts down in 7 seconds, turns on in 50, iLife '08 is amazing software that sells itself. Compatibility rarely an issue anymore.
Cons: SD slot would be nice, other than that no more cons
Summary: Will never buy a PC again, the value for the dollar spent is far more worth it than that of a PC.

"So far so good..." on by jenn_petty
Pros: The looks. Leopard. Speed.
Cons: The heat. White keys and white trackpad, it's only been a couple hours and my fingerprint are noticeable, and yes my hands are clean.
Summary: I just received it today 11/9. I couldn't wait any longer. I finally gave into getting a mac after using windows exclusively. After waiting for leopard to release and then hearing rumors of macbook upgrades, I was getting antsy. It was finally delivered and I can say I was somewhat disappointed for lack of a better word. I have been exposed to macs at school but mostly only through the adobe products. Keep in mind I can't really compare or contrast from previous macbooks or os's and don't take me wrong, I'm sure I have plenty more how-tos and guides to read and maybe I'll seem more impressed but anyways. I plugged it in and got started only to find myself going online checking email in the same meager way I would in windows. Yeah this Leopard setup is visually appealing but no more than Vista has been the last few months since I upgraded. Its safe to say that I will be keeping my hp desktop around and this macbook is my shiny new toy. Thats about all I can say about it right now. I know I seem mixed but I do give the new macbook a thumbs up. I'm still trying to see what this puppy can do.

"Fantastic notebook" on by talmy
Pros: fast, long battery life, smooth case, OS X Leopard
Cons: I'd like a higher res, LED backlit display
Summary: I bought the mid-range model to get the superdrive, and added 4GB of RAM for a little over $100. RAM and hard drive upgrades are easy with this unit. Parallels allows me to run the Windows-only apps that kept me using a Dell Inspiron instead of being 100% Mac.
Keyboard and trackpad work very well and much better than my old iBook, which was the first notebook I actually enjoyed using. Previous experience, besides the Dell, has been with HP, IBM, and Toshiba.
Still, though, if you don't need mobility buy the iMac. -
"This is my favorite computer ever" on by laboya616
Pros: Blazing fast, burns my old desktop; not even close. The ease of use is unbelievable
Cons: Plain blue folders
Summary: I love this thing. I bought this laptop with a 250gb hard drive and 2gb ram after being a pc user forever. This laptop is unbelievable. It is faster than 90% of people's desktops. I'll tell you mac's leopard is incredibly fast and so easy. After fooling around for a couple of days it was awkward to use a windows computer again... Apple is the shiznit

"Another Hit from Apple" on by jowewo
Pros: Performance, design, price
Cons: Not for a gamer
Summary: Once again, Apple struck! The MacBook is an amazing product.
Speedy, slick and secure for a price beating any competitor.
The Cupertino firm has a winning product if you consider that it is coupled with a great software suite: iLife'08 gives you everything you need for work and home. In case you are not satisfied with the Apple software suite, install Office for Mac... There you go: you have one of the best laptop on the market for under $1300 (standard configuration with a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor).
Would recommend to anyone for work and pleasure, at home or at the office.
