"great netbook"4.0 starson by facel_vega
Pros: portability of a netbook
good performance, battery life
Cons: shiny finish makes you into a fingerprint obsessive
Summary: I bought this netbook after researching quite a bit online. The tiny SSD drives of early competitors didn't cut it with me, so it was between the Wind and the 1000h or ha in my book. The Asus won me over because of its brighter, better display. I went for the A because I preferred the lower price to the bluetooth of the other model.
Generally it's been a great little computer, does everything my old 15.4" beast does at less than half the weight. I get very good battery life too, and don't find the keyboard flimsy as it has been reviewed in other places. Since I got this computer, though, the new Samsung competitor has come out with slightly better battery life and weight, and I might have made that choice instead had it been available at the time, but maybe not as the Asus still has a price advantage. I wouldn't go with the Asus replacement, whose cleaner design is marred by weaker battery life.
In the end, the only thing I don't like about this computer is its shiny finish. Reviews mentioned it, and I didn't pay much attention, but now I find myself obsessively wiping it down every time I use it. It looks nice when it's shiny, with a deep bowling-ball like sparkle, but I'd rather never notice the case, thanks. Otherwise, a great choice I think. This isn't a glorified blackberry as some have claimed, but a perfectly viable replacement for bulkier and more expensive laptops.
