Pros: The Ram, which has 8GB of RAM the ATI MR HD5870 Graphics card, the price, I sold my G17x Alienware computer to get this one. I sold it, bought this ASUS, great gaming console

Cons: The Touchpad, it has the worst touchpad i've ever used. but not all of them are like that, and they just came out with new driver software that hopefully fixes it. However, this is a GAMING machine, A mouse should solve the problem.

Summary: I will admit that the touchpad on this computer isn't great, in fact from the factory it's Horrible, But, a new Driver came out for the touchpad just recently. If that doesn't correct it, go to control panel, click on Mouse and change mouse settings, then click on Device settings tab and then click on settings, I reccommend turning all Scrolling, horizontal, Chiral, all of them turned off, no scrolling, Then make sure it's on the 3rd or 4th line on sensitivity. Try didnt palmcheck settings but turning it up all the way into the red may seem counterintuitive, Basically go through all the settings and turn all of them off. BTW, Where the bottom left corner meets at a 90 degree angle, well a very small portion of that area always works, but, edgemotion has to be turned off.ngs wheich is under "mouse" on the control p o has thi friend whanel This is a gaming System, it's in which case you need a mous, that solves the touchpad problem, They also make a mouse for this particular model of computer, it's a mini cmouseThat has a retractabke cord that makes it where the area right of the touchpad the minimouse's mousepad. I much prefer the G9X Mouse but on trips or where there is no room for a mousepad However if you instal the new driver and tweak touchpad settings the touchpad will work for about 8 minutes, at which you press FN and the turn touchpad off button, F9, and then turn it back on, now you have another 8 minutes or so. If you purchased this laptop and you don't play Games suchas Call of Duty, you never should have purchased this computer in the first place. It is built for gaming, and you can't play games without a mouse, espcially games like Call of Duty, Even slower paced games liike world of warcraft you need a mouse. A gaming mouse, I have a RAZER Lachesis which has an extra 4 programable buttons, The G9X has 10. I still plan on getting mine fixed, I still on getting mine fixed, I bought the extra 3 year warranty which I'm glad to have gotten because it makes the warr anty process and trading in faster. I'm Just Scared that when I go there it won' mess up, since I tweaked the settings I can go hours before it starts messing up. If anyone is interested in the minimouse or how I tweaked the setttings that made it work 20 times better, but still messes up (the touchpad, not the minimouse) The mouse works perfect, The touchpad sucks but if your a gamer it doesn't matter. Not to mention I know how to fix the problem, but I can't with mine it would void the warranty. I should sell that service "For 100bucks I will make your Touchpad work perfectly 100% of the time.Like I said, I can't do on mine I have like 3 years of warranty left. I have another friend with the same model, but he's never had any tohpad problems. Yes t does tick me off when the touchpad doesnt work. because sometimes you do need it.

My G73JH has NEVER missed a keystroke, so don't say all of them. Go to control panel, click mouse, then click on change mouse settings, click on Device Settings, then click settings, Turn Palm Check all the way into the red, or, there is also a checkbox that says "Disable pointing device while Typing" turn that on. With both of those you will never miss a key stroke.

Well, It's been 3-4 months since my last review, absolutely NO GPU problems. Has not crashed ONCE while playing Wow or Starcraft. I don't even seem to have the missing keystrokes issue. however, the touchpad does suck, but, I never use it. I have a Razer Mamba and a Razer Deathadder. I like the Mamba because it can be used as a wireless mouse or it can be used as a wired mouse. When I took it to best buy the day after I got it for th touchpad, they wouldn't ackowledge the touchpad issues, however they said something was wrong with the keyboard and they completely replaced it. Maybe that's why It has never missed a keystroke. If I didn't have mine I would be leary of purchasing it due to the reviews, but I gues I got lucky and got a good one, Besides touchpad I can't say anything bad about it.
