"Could be great but I would pass"
2.0 starson by dna2goPros: Powerful processor, lots of RAM and a great video card.
Cons: Bad keyboard constantly missing keystrokes. Horrible touchpad with an almost unusable left/right click button. ASUS support is also lacking in many areas.
Summary: I had this laptop for three months and was constantly frustrated by the keyboard and touchpad. The keyboard constantly misses keystrokes and you spend too much time backspacing and retyping. The touchpad right/left click button is so stiff as to be impossible to use.
After three months the connection between the power adapter and laptop failed so I could no longer charge the battery or run off AC power. I contacted ASUS and was told since I purchased the laptop at Best Buy that my warranty was different than if I would have purchased it directly from ASUS. I was required to pay to ship the laptop to them and they would pay to ship it back to me which makes no sense since it is their faulty hardware. After shipping my laptop to ASUS I heard nothing from them. I talked to tech support three different times and no one could ever tell me if my laptop had arrived or not or give any indication when it might be fixed.
ASUS finally did ship my laptop back after 8 days and so far the power problem has been fixed. The keyboard seems more responsive but I still get the occasional missed keystroke. I am however having several blue screens when trying to restart from hibernation.
All in all I think this could be a really solid laptop if ASUS could get a few issues fixed and get better tech support but I would definitely not recommend anyone purchasing it until that happens.
