  • "Best Ultrabook atm"

Pros: 1080p IPS display, good multitouch mouse-pad. Improved keyboard resistance. Price is just right for this kind of setup.

Cons: non-replaceable SSD storage. There tend to be light bleed on all IPS display.

Summary: I'm pretty happy with my UX31A Zenbook. The best Win7 Ultrabook screen you can get atm. Despite the light bleed, it's hardly noticeable until you watch something really dark or when Windows boot up screen. It's a really good update from last gen Zenbook because Asus has listen to most customer complaint and they address most of the issue on this new generation of Zenbook. I had a blast with the mouse-pad because it's very responsive so I don't know what Cnet is talking about why it suck. Keyboard is definitely better than last gen and less flex. The 1080p ISP display is beautiful. Viewing angle is better than most LCD display use in computer today. One thing I like Asus to change is to QC the IPS display before shipment because almost all of it has light bleed on them.

Just a response to delp12, you should clarify why the laptop was a "piece of junk". This will help the readers have a better perspective of the product. I still think this is a great product. For any other ultrabook out there, this seem to be the most versatile in its GPU and size. This is the most attractive feature in my opinion. I also like the small screen as my bags aren't full sized laptop bags, and it will provide a lighter weight on my shoulders when I travel (I sustained a broken tibial plateau and knee fracture, so anything not too weight bearing is perfect for me).

I was in charge of buy portable laptops for our office. Because I wanted to stay away from apple (many of our progams would not work with apple), hence bought the asus zenbook. What a piece of junk. If it were a single purchase, then i would say i got a lemon, but i purchased mulitiple units and they have all the same issues. For CNET to give this product a good rating blows me away.
