"Buyer Beware: RMA Service is Terrible - 2+ months and still waiting for laptop"
Pros: compact laptop
Cons: I am without a laptop
Summary: I was quite happy with my compact laptop until my motherboard failed and I had to send it in for in-warranty repair. Not only was the hard drive proprietary, so I couldn't easily grab my data up before sending it off or find a shop that would (nor did Averatec have a recommendation), but Averatec has now had my laptop for over 2 months and can't give me a single estimate of how long they'll continue to have it for. There are motherboard shipments coming in and being distributed on a first-come, first-service basis, but they can't estimate how many more orders need to come in until my laptop is serviced. The manager of support told me he had no one to escalate this to and that he had no access to information valuable to my request for a turnaround time estimate.
Reason alone not to buy this brand at all. Without good support, no product is worth buying.
