Pros: nothing. small size and nice price attracted me and I was in a hurry and didn't do my research.
Cons: It overheats and shuts down constantly, even with a cooling fan. It is very slow. It is a piece of junk. All the keys are turning black and I am careful with it. It is the worst purchase I ever made.
Summary: It also has no battery life. I should have taken it back on day one but they had loaded it up and gotten it ready for me so I couldn't. UGH Disaster. I have bought multipile cooling fans and still it shuts down. YOu know it's a problem when the company makes a speicial cooling fan just for this unit!!!

Pros: NOTHING. IT'S NOT EVEN THAT LIGHT OR SMALL.
Cons: IT FREEZES AND OVERHEATS CONSTANTLY!! I HAVE A COOLING PAD FOR IT AND IT STILL OVERHEATS. ITS BATTERY LIFE SUCKS!!!
Summary: I HATE THIS COMPUTER. DON'T BUY IT!!! IT'S NOT EVEN THAT LIGHT, BECAUSE YOU NEED A COOLING PAD FOR IT AND IT STILL OVERHEATS. IT'S WELL OVER 5 LBS AFTER YOU ADD THE COOLING PAD. THERE ARE A LOT BETTER LAPTOPS OUT THERE FOR THE SAME PRICE!!! IT FALLS APART AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF USE. I DIDN'T EVEN USE IT THAT OFTEN AND IT STARTED FALLING APART. I HATE THIS LAPTOP. DON'T BUY THIS CRAP!

Pros: really small and light...thats the only good thing about this monster
Cons: everything else.... freezes constantly, overheats every day, the keys and touchpad are all black and worn down from a few months of typical college use.
Summary: I can not believe how many problems i've had with this computer. going into my freshman year, i was really excited to have a cute small new laptop for school work, and occassional gaming.
the computer started overheating and shutting down after a few months, at first once in a while, than more frequently now i cant even watch movies on it without the computer overheating.
the volume is so low i often cant hear movies, and the volune sometimes doesnt work on one side.
the keys and touchpad wear down really quickly.
the computer started freezing about once a day a few months ago. the comp. freezes suddenly and compltely so any unsaved work is immediatly lost. this renders the computer useless if you need to use it for papers.
i took it to a computer shop to get it fixed when it was only 10 months old from all the problems and learned the warranty meant i would have to ship the computer to a center in texas and pay THEM the fees for shipping and handling so they could fix this sh**Y computer. I realized that even once i did that i'd probably still have the same problems and didnt even bother. -

Summary: When I first picked up this laptop I was very excited, due to the fact that it was a small, portable laptop that had pretty good specs. The first 3 weeks I had no problem with it- other than the battery life dying after 1 hour and the laptop getting extremely hot, but after that- the nightmare began. The exterior of the computer literally started to fall apart as bits and pieces of the laptop came apart. The trackpad wore down to a nasty white color- and even with good care- this laptop looked like it had just survived a war. The computer would shut off and freeze 2 or 3 times a day and I could not get anything accomplised. By one and a half months, I couldn't return this piece of junk, leaving me to sell it on ebay to someone else who was willing to put up with this crap... If you're even thinking about picking one of these up- FORGET IT! Save your money for anything else!!

Pros: small, light, great functionality, good battery life
Cons: some awkward key placement
Summary: This laptop is an amazing deal and has worked great for me. I haven't had the problems with battery life the CNET reviewers talk about. Averatec service is kind of lame and most phone operators are confused, but if you know how to handle yourself on a computer this is a great deal and a good choice for a light laptop.
