"Excellent for the price"
Pros: WiFi included, nice screen size, fairly quick processor, large hard drive
Cons: Cheaper model had webcam, Needs Decrappified
Summary: I think for $499 this computer was quite a bargain. The included WiFi coneects quickly and easily. I like the 15.4" screen, but it gives off quite a glare under any lighting situation - it's like looking into a mirror. Overall I find it very versatile and very quick in it's offerings. The touchpad is a jumpy, so I use a mouse instead.
Updated on Nov 17, 2008I felt it necessary to update my review. It is now November and I have owned this laptop for 5 months. Much has changed in the notebook market recently with new processors abd the advent of the mini-notebooks like the ASUS EEE. Why anyone would spend $400-$500 on one of these underpowered computers is beyond when you can have a laptop such as this for the same price. Also, I have been tracking the pricing on laptops with the AMD Turion X2 TL-60 CPU and other companies, again like ASUS, ACER and Toshiba charging $600 - $800 with this CPU, and they have less memory and smaller hard drives. A popular direct seller is offering this refurbished at $499.99. I guess I was just blessed to get one new at $499.
I have really enjoyed making DVDs from this computer from video taken from my camcorder. The processing certainly isn't as fast as my Quad 6600, but it doesn't take that much longer. It really is a nice computer. Get one if you can!
