    "Don't buy CyberPower"

    by walker2151 on March 22, 2006

    Pros: Cheap, that's it cheap

    Cons: It's Cyberpower

Summary: I bought a desktop from cyberpower and just for the service I would not buy anything from their again. Sure their 3 year onsite waranty was cheap but I got my desktop and I had to format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system right after I took it out of the box. They were supposed to do like 72 hours of testing or 24 hours or something but I doubt they did seeing that it didn't work right out of the box. Also I'm pretty sure that my ram is bad and I paid for two extra fans in my case but apparently my case doesn't allow for two extra fans so they let me pay for it but didn't tell me that I wouldn't be getting them. They eventually shipped me the fans but there isn't anywhere to put them. I would only recomend buying from CyberPower if you need a cheap computer, you can fix almost any computer problem yourself, and if you just like knowing that if you need onsite service it's cheap. I haven't used the onsite service, mostly because I'm lazy, but once I do, we'll see how well that goes. DON'T BUY CYBERPOWER!!!!!!

Do not even give this company the time of day; I stumble across a notebook of theirs by buddy had said was broken. I figured I could salvage it and upon closer inspection it seemed to be a quality product still worth fixing. But, my buddy told me the story of how he had to send it back 3 different times and it was never fixed; he was overseas the last time he had to recieve it and when he received it it was still broken and when he called cyberpower they told him once a product goes overseas the product's warranty is void, which was a lie, and sadly, it was a lie to a United States Marine in a combat zone merely looking to have his computer fixed so he could play a game or 2 when he was not on combat patrol. On top of that, when my friend returned I tried to work on it by calling their tech support and they gave me the run around since I was not the owner, and after finally getting them to cooperate in helping me, I could get no useful assistance in even the most basic of technical problems. The way Cyberpower treated me, treated my veteran buddy, and the entire unprofessional attitude they had displayed until I mentioned I was willing to buy a product to fix the laptop are just a few of the reasons this company should be shut down on a basis of principle. Go buy a Dell, or a Gateway, or make one yourself, because for me, the whole experience with Cyberpower makes me sick, literally.
