Will never replace the 700mby kevlarheart - April 13, 2007
Pros: Full keyboard/touch pad disable/good processor
Cons: Keys stick, bulky and heavy
Review:
Alas, my Dell 700m was stolen in Barcelona when I was mugged attending 3GSM. I wanted to replace it with another thin and light Inspiron that had an integral optical drive. The only solution Dell has is the 640m/E1405.
While the Core Duo processor is a workhorse, the form factor really bothers me. It's thicker and heavier than its lightweight predecessor. Lately the Backspace and Enter keys feels as if they have become unseated.
I hope Dell rethinks the demise of the 700/710m form factor and gives us travelers a thin and light laptop with an integral optical drive.

Probably the most perfect laptop you could buyby Mr. Prime - March 16, 2007
Pros: Great performance, lightweight, great battery life, charges fast, attractive and sleek design
Cons: Honostly, the only thing I can complain about is sometimes the optical drive is noisy when it gets to full speed, as it vibrates against the chassis
Review:
This is an incredible laptop. It was a Christmas present, and I love it to death. Probably one of the best features is that the battery on this thing gives me a good 5-6 hours on a full charge. The battery also charges EXTREMELY fast. The screen is nice and clear, the keyboard feels good when you type, and it is very no nonesense in operation. Its patented "Strike Zone" protects the HD from bumps and drops. If your looking for a very reliable, very portable laptop, then definity buy the Dell Inspiron E1405

Had computer 1 week. Spent over 10 hours with India for assorted problems.by mmiller13 - August 21, 2006
Pros: never had a chance. certainly not Dell support.
Cons: customer support and the 1405
Review:
I have always been a big Dell guy. Got my company to purchase over 200 of them. From the day I received this to the day (after tears and pleading) they took it back, this unit was horrible. Their tech support was never able to help me but they were always sorry for my inconvenience...at least that is what I think they said?
They lost a customer for life because they no longer care about their customers.
This unit was built cheaply and the bottom of the screen had a bright white light.
