Fingerprint magnet, like most other laptops and netbooksSummary: I got one of these last week. It is great for university students such as myself. It is great for taking notes in class and it does not have a noisy fan to disturb other classmates. A few students use HP Tablet PCs in the row behind me and they make a lot of noise and are distracting. Right now I have my netbook hooked up to a 21.5 inch monitor and am running AutoCAD 2010 student edition. This works great because I can see the drawings I make on a big screen and also have the portability to take them to school for small edits when working on projects with other students. This rig is faster than my old Pentium 4 Dell Dimension.
Some people complain about the touch pad but I found it very easy to get used to. If some of the features annoy you are engage randomly they can easily be turned off. The scrolling works great as well as the full hand return to desktop feature. I don't find the click buttons to be hard to use either. You just have to click with one finger before you put your other finger on the pad to do things such as dragging and dropping. Overall very impressed with my Dell Mini 10. I only have the 1.33 ghz and do not have the high def display. Seems to work fine and the core stay at around 55 deg. even when running AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 2007 while playing music from WMPlayer. Oh yeah, I've used this for running some linear programming models also, takes about the same time to run as a P4 desktop. Havent tried MATLAB yet but I'm sure it will work okay. And for those who watch videos the high def display is probably a must since the normal display, when not set to aspect ratio conformity, distorts the image to some extent. -

5. Card Slot does not take XD cardsSummary: I have had this laptop a little over 5 months and find it great for my everyday tasks. I love the keyboard because I type better on the smaller keyboard. I use an external mouse as I don't like the touch pad. If you want to watch DVD's or Install Software off of CD/DVD you will need to purchase an external drive. I would recommend getting a USB hub as well.
Speaker Quality is standard. I love that it has both microphone and headphone jacks. But also has a built in microphone.
Runs online games pretty well but not a good laptop for a gamer. Great for streaming videos/movies/TV anywhere you want.
If you are looking for a computer to take with you, doesn't take up a lot space but has a good amount of storage I would recommend the Dell Mini 10. One feature that would be good for students is a slot for a laptop lock to secure it to a table or desk for security. -

Pros: Small, convenient, great connections. i.e. 2 normal USB ports, 1 pwr USB port...
Cons: Not being able to increase RAM from the 1GB to a 2GB system.
Summary: I would recommend this to anyone wanted true portability.

Pros: Compact, light and upgraded battery lasts almost 5 hrs.
Cons: Takes over 10 min to start & irresponsive to commands. I have 2 of them same thing! Software is prone to crashing too often. First one crashed the first month. Dell guaranty is 21 days (says something)
Summary: Save your self money and heart ache! The idea is great but the product is plain worthless. Beware, Dell often ships "refurbished" equipment instead of "new" and Dell support is non existant! Complaints go unanswered they are very good at stone walling!
