Pros: Very good looking, sturdy body, good tactile feel on the keyboard and palmrest, no sticker clutter. Don't overlook multibay capability. Performance is superb. This is a worthy desktop replacement for power users.

Cons: an angled power plug would have been more flush with less chance of stress on the jack. Memory upgrade too expensive (maxed to 8GB through a reputable 3rd party for a fraction of the cost). A bit heavier than comparable sized laptops.

Summary: 1600 x 900 LCD upgrade and I5 processor upgrade is worth it. Max the RAM and plan on a second HDD if you want to do several Virtual Machines effectively. If you go the SSD route, then the multibay will give you needed storage with a second mounted HDD down the road.
