"Well balanced, great value."
Pros: - Touch controls for media come in handy
- 4 USB ports for external devices (Barely enough for my desk setup)
- 2.0 mp webcam and microphone array for chats
- Balanced, dependable (if not exceptional) performanceCons: - Finger print scanner only works intermittently
Summary: I bought this computer to get me through my senior year, especially for several correspondence courses and a portfolio compilation that required a faster processor for photo editing. I've had it for over a year now, and its stood up remarkably well. I'd hesitated to purchase from Dell, having had bad experiences with their laptops overheating previously. But my Studio has remained comfortably cool in all conditions and I've never had a crash from overheating.
- Battery life is not exceptional
I've appreciated this computer's storage space, as of the course of the year i've expanded my photo and music libraries as well as installed several memory-hogging games, and there's still plenty of room for more pictures, not to mention performance on everyday tasks hasn't suffered. The 2.0 ghz Dual Core keeps up pretty well with multitasking, although certain combinations (music player, internet, and photoshop simultaneously) do tend to slow thing down considerably.
This computer has served me well thus far and doesn't seem to be having any problems as it goes into its second year of service. The fingerprint scanner i included in my package works most of the time, but can be very picky and sometimes its simpler just to type the password. Otherwise, a great computer for a good price.
