"ideal for multitasking"
Pros: twin duo :T9300 (2.5GHz, 6MB Cache, 800 MHz FSB) + 4GB RAM
Cons: limited graphics, dull interiors, bulky, external sound not good compared to XPS
Summary: Hi all.
i'm vivek from india.
couple of weeks back i've got dell studio15 laptop.Based on this 2 weeks , notebook is found to be good for multi-tasking (i've played mostwanted & race driver grid while running a virus scan in background it seems the game has not got stuck at any point).it may be coz of the combinaton of intel C2D T9300 2.5GHz, 6MB Cache, 800 MHz FSB + 4GB of ram.To be honest enough the studio15 has dull interior looks, poor sound & lacked innovation when compared to quosmio. but sound is good in headphones when heard with creative audigy s/w or along with Creative sound card if you have purchased while customizing your laptop.BACKLIT keyboard is another cool feature in studio 15.Another major drawback is still the studio15 drivers are not released in XP platform. I prefer XP in my notebook than vista.
if you plan for a normal config of 2 or 3 gb ram with 2.1 ghz of processor. i strogly recommed you guys to go for TOSHIBA quosmio or any other with XP as operating system coz for running vista needs min of 1gb ramUpdated
if you get a dell studio 15 with 2.3 ghz or more along with 4gb ram....it rocks....and can rival any piece that we say as notebook.
in india as for studio15 is huge hit...to be frank enough XPS has the label for gaming. but i say for $1100-$1300 nothing can match STUDIO 15 in performance with T9300/T9500 processor + 4 GB ram. but we cannot get XPS with advanced processor for that cost.
believe me ,Both XPS & studio 15 are same. only change is handling charges and body resemle to inspiron and has a dull look.
one of my frenz who got xps1530 for $1350
had
intel c2d 2.0ghz processor + 3 gb ram.
but i got Studio15 (1530)with following
intel c2d 2.5ghz processor + 4 gb ram + backlit keyboard for same price..
which is better ...? dont be foolded enough by these forums.
these forums take 2.0ghz & 2gb ram as prototype for studio 15 and made all comparisons
but once you customize, you will come to know which is better.
but look doesnt matter.only performance matters.no piece of notebooks can match studio15 in performace in such lower rates.
