DELL HELL Beware Dell Techs screw up laptop fixing them
Pros: Many when and IF it runs...Fast when it runs 2.43 and ummmm all I can think of after almost a year. After 5 months I gave up and it was in the drawer. Nice 17" screen is all. That has not broken, oh did I say it has only left the house once.
Cons: Cons: I was sold a Lemon 5 major defects / 6 major fixes, Dells tech also screwed the screw in sideways. I was told my comp would be late being returned again to me do to a HIGH number of them coming into be fixed. GEZ! That is encouraging, ya think?
Review: I bought an Inspiron 1525, Hard drive was defective, week later keyboard broke. I was just told by manager at Dell if I filed a BBB claim and complaint that Dell would NOT ship me a return box to get it fixed the 4th time. I Stated that is Black mail and Tech mgr said I will refer you to the legal dept, but you will NOT be getting a box to return it here............What the HECK is that GARBAGE? I assured her that here in America we were allowed to contact consumer complaint companies that assist customers with issues that are NOT being addressed, again I was told I would not get a box, I just got the comp back, the WIFI lights were to be fixed + the plate around the power button was warped and crooked when I got it back, They fixed the lil face plate and replaced a mother board 2 times in a row so they say, NO LIGHTS> GEZ! Oh but I can BUY an extended WARRANTY to cover any more issues that can arise. My Lord!
After asking for a new computer since they admitted that Vista caused the hard drive failure or could have been defective I was assured all was fine. I have been fighting dell for many months. My laptop has been to the Tech depot for fixing 4x. 10+ days each time. Countless hours and countless calls from Dell, I have a computer worse off than it was. A/c adapter fried, wifi lights working, I was told oh those do not matter if you can get online! GEZ!
I could go on but now that I have to go buy flash drives to back up whole comp, cuz the tech reconfig my comp while I was on the phone and now the lights do not work on the wifi catcher. Mgr Tech said, no big deal after 2 hrs trying to load drivers etc just go buy some flash drives and save your whole comp so when we wipe it out and reset all of the factory standards you will lost everything. Great and then that may not work, tech told me oh we usually disable the wifi switch, because it gets loose after usage and causes issues...NICE !
2 mother boards, 1 fan and ummmm what else besides the keyboard and hard drive replaced, ummm. WIFI lights not work and get to wipe out hard drive again with no fiz guarantee. Get a HP or Compaq I have never had to ever send those back...
MAC is on the list too! Cheap is what you get for a grand and nightmares of non english speaking techs with dell.
Do NOT get one for the price mine is $1,000.00 + paper weight! The stress of catching them in their own lies it NOT worth it at YOUR expense. Oh I will be going to the electronics store now gotta go.
