"Support issues greatly reduce value and rating of machine"
Pros: Great bundle for price - when system works!
Cons: Service and support delays and inconsistencies
Summary: Careful before you buy emachines. Their promised 5 day turnaround time for repair is now 23 days and counting and they have been inconsistent in saying where the delay lies.
I have 2 emachines (a M5313 and M6807). Both machines needed repairs after a few months - so I only sent one in to make sure I didn't lose them both at the same time.
The one sent in needed a new motherboard. I sent in the computer on 10 Feb. 6 days later, on 16 Feb I phoned them - and they couldn't find the machine at first. Then they found it - it had arrived the day before but was sitting the warehouse.
I phoned them again 5 days after that on 21 Feb - they were just replacing the motherboard.
I phoned them 3 days after that on 24 Feb - they were just finishing off the final quality assurance check. That same day, I phoned customer service to see why everything was taking so long and lodged a complaint to this end.
4 days later, on 28 Feb I phoned them - they now say they are waiting for the motherboard to arrive!
No they cannot give me any more information than that. I leave the rest up to your imagination!
