I've had this laptop for 8 months and am well satisfied.
Pros: It has a great screen and wirth the N-vidia graphics, it's like beiung in the picture. The graphics are so good, you can see the separate blades of grass in some of the video games I have loaded.
Cons: I haven't found any bad things about it except it runs a little on the hot side for a laptop and the battery life is short but I moslty use it where I camn plug in the ac adapter.
It came with 100Gbt. HDD and I bought an extra 120 Gbt. HDD. This causes a longer boot up time but for 220Gbt. of mermory, who's griping?
don't expect much help from the Everex Tech support folks. They don't seem to be very switched on about their products. They don't recommend installing a second hard drive even though they use the second hard drive slot as a selling point. Mine is working great and I've even swapped them around between slots to test the performance and they work just as well in either slot. If I have tech questions, I usually find the answers on the Net in Forums.
I'm so satisfied with my XT5000T that I'm buying my wife an Everex for Christmas.

One of the best "bang for your buck" notebooks around
Pros: Clean "no nonsense" styling, gorgeous screen, decent set of speakers, great video card, fast.
Cons: Keyboard layout is a bit quirky.
What makes this "enthusiast-class"? Well it's got fully accessible hard drive bays (two of them and as of late, now has RAID support
Adding icing to the cake is a gorgeous 17" WXGA+ widescreen display with "diamond brite" technology (read: glossy finish that improves contrast), a decent pair of speakers for gaming or playing media (which on a notebook is virtually unheard of, no pun intended), and a very serviceable AMD Turion X2 dual core TL-50.
With all of this, the price would have still been justified with 512mb of ram and Vista Home basic, but Everex went the extra mile and threw in 1 GB of ram and Vista Home premium. The design of the notebook is very clean and straightforward; no hokey looking curves, textures, or color schemes going on here.
The only complaint I have is the keyboard, it has the \ key in about 3 places you don't expect it. It takes a little getting used to.
I purchased this with an extra 100GB drive and 2GB of memory and still came in at under $1K; 3 months later, I'm still a very happy camper!
