"Not too bad" on by bento324
Pros: I have always appreciated the display on this system. It looks great. The system has generally worked well for me for many years. I think it's 6 years old now, maybe. It worked well for games for me too, back when I first got it.
Cons: CPU fan is bad-made noise after 2 yrs. Win7 doesn't support some drivers. There is a good amount of flex, so it feels a little cheap. It's 12 lbs or so, so it's hard to lug around. I think the battery lasts about 15-20 mins, but it's old now.
Summary: After about 6 years of use, the CPU fan is about dead. It was noisy for the past 4 years or so. Other than that, it's been a fine machine. I'll try to keep it around for backup and other side tasks.

"Overall bad" on by Nearhi
Pros: Big Screen
Full sized keyboard.
Good picture.
Pretty good sound for a notebook.Cons: Battery life.
Problems. Problems. Problems.Summary: About 5 years after buying this machine I am regretting the issue. It's been such a bad trip.
First, within first year the hard drive crapped out. Got it fixed under store's warranty (in turn they just used the manufacture's warranty.) Then the cooling fans stopped working and the computer was under performing due to the heat. I fixed those myself because the warranties were up. No thanks to Fry's Electronics for robbing me when I told them the fans were defective and they did nothing, but I digress. Now the battery is dead and the charger messes up if you even tap it causing the computer to reboot. Now the computer is likely having more hard drive issues as it won't boot.
If you see anyone reselling this computer, walk away. The thing is a monster, no battery life short term or long term. Overheats due to bad fan build and placement.
I wish I had never spent what I did for this... Way too much for so much constant work. -
"Fujitsu Lifebook N6420 - Bad ATI Video Chip" on by mtcabrey
Pros: Cleanist Video. Rich\viberent color
Cons: ATI video chip heat sink under design.
Summary: I had this computer for about 14 months before the video processor went south. The Video chip started hanging the CPU bus and crashing. Since it was out of warranty I sent to Fujitsu for a new mother board for a cost of $600. When I received my computer back from repair, I opened the laptop up to see what, if anything was changed. I found that they added a fan and a beefier heat sink to the ATI video chip. So I had to pay for a under designed computer and a $600 video processor fan.
I am pissed.
Fujitsu ripped me off. -
"Sexy Design, Great Performer" on by SonicJoe
Pros: intriguing enhanced features
Cons: 1 hour battery life
Summary: Not many 17'' notebooks offer a keypad on the side, and it's "visual optimizer" is a nifty feature that is fun to switch back and forth with. The finger pad feels much more smoother than any HP, Accurus, Lenovo, Gateway, or Acer notebooks. I currently play a pc game called "War Rock" on this Fujitsu, and it runs excellent!

"Very Surprised" on by dcistone
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Battery Life
Summary: I was doing a lot of research for a laptop or desktop replacement. After my research the HP9000t was the way to go. While at Fry's the sales person turned me on to the Fujitsu. My configuration is 1.83, 2 gigs of ram, 200g HD. This thing is great, I'm happy I got this one over the HP, it's the only one left still made in Japan, everything else is outsourced. The Screen is awesome and it's fast for the things I want to accomplish. I don't game much anymore so the ATI 1400 doesn't bother me much. I love the 17 crystal clear screen and the full keyboard was a big selling point to me, the HP 9000t also has the full keyboard.
The only draw back is the battery life. I might get an hour and a half and that's just playing on the internet and maybe some excel.
The wireless rocks and I like the mode button.
Overall I'm very happy and pleased.
