    "Great little laptop!" on

Pros: I'm a professor and use it to prepare and present powerpoint presentations. Rock solid. Makes the students drool over its small size and great build quality. Touchscreen a big +. I thought I loved my Vaio until I bought this.

Cons: Processor runs slower than expected, but it gets the job done.

"a fantastic addition to my life!" on by page10

Pros: SIZE SIZE SIZE--too cool for words!

Cons: no internal cd drive, but don't need this function on the road anyway

Summary: This is a fabulous computer--its portability is amazing. It's been around the world with us, great for running our business needs, huge capability for our extensive inventory program; wonderful for diversion and fun, esp. trade shows, where people are intrigued by its size. Instead of dreading having to lug a laptop around, esp. on vacations, we don't want to leave home without it. Also, thought I would want a much larger monitor at home, but don't need it at all.
Fujitsu support is absolutely flawless, and I am used to dealing with a lot of customer service issues. Do hate the way people whine about speakers, key size etc--this is NOT an ipod, and the tradeoffs are few, if any. Hi-cap battery is very adequate for a workday. Had considered the Vaio, but felt ripped off by much higher price for accessories. Wifi functions great, touchscreen is a dream.

This is a truly elegant, beautifully designed machine.

"Extremely Compact and Long Battery Life" on by johnnyo

Pros: Very Portable, Well built, simple design, outstanding battery life, usable keyboard (given the size), strong customer support, low cost (including accesories)

Cons: difficult to use outside, limited ram, slow processor

Summary: Excellent for traveling sales professional. I use for email and voice dictation (Dragon Professional Version 8). Believe it or not, the system works reasonably well for dictation. Thus the limited-size keyboard is not a major issue.

You can buy this machine from Fujitsu's Outlet store for $699 ($100 rebate comes to $599)when it becomes available. I've purchased two at this price. You have to keep checking their website for the deal to appear.

All in all, you can't find a better machine for the money if you value portability. Also, the 6-cell battery is a must....

Those people who criticize the machine for performance and cd-rom are more apt to purchase a larger, heavier system. It's true about the performance. However, you've got to compare this machine to other laptops that are this small and portable. Also, you don't want a cd and faster processor because those elements kill the battery very rapidly. As for speed, the 1 Ghz level seems to be the benchmark for portability and battery life balance. Why would you be using a 3Ghz notebook for email and wordprocessing?
