"Stay Away from Fujitsu: No Support"
Pros: Nice Looking
Cons: When the Battery Dies, So Does the Laptop
Summary: Have a Fujitsu Lifebook -- 3 years old. The battery won't hold a charge anymore. No problem, get a replacement, right? Wrong! Fujitsu stopped manufacturing them 2 years ago. Searched all over for inventory, there is none. Now I have a non-mobile laptop.

Whoa man! I've had Fujitsu P Series Lifebook for going on three years. I had a problem with a faulty keyboard and a hard drive. Both were fixed under warranty with no problem. (I always buy the extended warranty on a laptop.) I'd like to have more speed and memory, and maybe one or two more USBs, but otherwise, it's a great computer. I use it everyday hooked to a 17" flat screen, plus travel with it. No muss, no fuss. A big plus? Tech support has been awesome out of Canada. The repair company here in Phoenix has also been great. I had a couple of Sonys and gave up on them. The LCDs, etc., couldn't handle the everyday use and abuse. My theory: if a brand's available at every dealer on the block, it's generally not a computer fit for business. Don't get suckered in by a fancy look and a bunch of software you'll never need. Get a second computer for this stuff.

I have a Fuji laptop and I love it. I'm sorry you had a negative experience with them. (I challenge you to have a better experience with Sony!) Regardless, you are supposed to comment on the laptop they are reviewing, not some other model. Also, I'm surprised you would base the review on a single aspect of your laptop's performance. I love the keyboard, screen and the cohesiveness of my Fuji. The battery life is great (still 5 hours after 2 years). I wish the screen were a bit bigger and that the external video didn't need a unique adapter. Overall, I'd give my Fuji laptop 8 out of 10. Oh yes, and my laptop is the direct forerunner of this one: same screen, same keyboard, 1 lb heavier and still lighter than most other usable laptops with a full optical drive.

The machine is 3 years old. You can't blame them for not carrying a battery for a computer 3 years after it was made. That would be like wanting to buy a remote for a CRT TV that is 10 years old. Why not just buy a new TV (or in your case it is time for an upgrade)?
