"Great little machine with no compromises"
Pros: light weight, DVD drive, firewire, PC card slot, plenty of USB ports, small but comfy keyboard, battery life, nice proprietory applications, quiet, fast and large hard drives, up to 4GB RAM
Cons: disappointing screen, Fujitsu service, no TV out
Summary: Before buying, I compared this laptop thoroughly to other laptops, including current top alternatives such as the Vaio, Dell, Asus, Apple etc ultraportables. Price was not an issue. Based on my needs (portability and no compromises) I ended up putting this at the top of the list. The screen size is perfect and all the other features and specs are perfect. Basically, all other laptops would have required me to give up something (e.g., DVD drive, screen size, weight, battery life, or something else). After using this for a few weeks, I can confirm that I made the right choice. Everything is as expected. Only three issues have prevented me from giving it a perfect score. First, the screen has a narrow viewing angle, so you always have to make sure you're right in front of it when using it. Second, I am not getting a very good vibe from Fujitsu customer service. My previous laptop was a Dell and they were great - Fujitsu is certainly a downgrade in that respect. Finally, there's no direct video out to TV (you need to use the VGA port).
All weighed up, this is a great laptop. If you can't stand having to make compromises it's certainly light years ahead of direct competitors such as the Apple Air, the Leonovo X300 and U110, the Vaio TZ series, the Toshiba R500, and the smaller Asus notebooks.
