"Biggest Bang for the Buck!!"
Pros: Thin Light Xbrite Screen Big Fix software xlent Customer Support
Cons: Had issue with graphic driver
Summary: I received my Gateway m250x four days ago. I'm very impressed with the build quality and the skinny/light profile. The thing is only 1.1 inches thick and 5.1 lbs. The thickness is close or the same as many of the ultra-portables costing thousands of $ more. Also, the notebook's hard drive is nearly silent. As is the keyboard. The fan is even remarkable quiet. Finally, Gateway includes a software program called "Big Fix" that provides notifications of updates available for your notebook via Gateway's support center.
I did my research and couldn't find anything comparable in size or weight. It looks like Gateway did their homework too cause the have really hit a home run here given the price of $909 I paid.
One tip,if you have problems with PowerDVD freezing for a milisecond every minute or so the issue is the Intel 915 graphics chipset. You need to go to the Intel site and download the latest driver. The driver that came with the box was causing the prob's despite several reinstalls. While customer service was readlily available and did their best to respond to my issue (told me to reinstall), I had to figure this one out myself.
Regardless, I'm very happy with my purchase. Nice job Gateway.
