"Many goods, just a few bads..." on by nickyjames1

Pros: Great 16 inch screen, very sturdy, great speakers, great speed.

Cons: HEAVY!!! doesnt always catch all of your keystrokes, unreliable touch controls

Summary: Upon first impression, the orange background was a turn off, but i have taken a liking to it. Very "ready to go" right out of the box. Very user friendly. My biggest complaints are the seemingly unresponsive touch controls for the Play, Forward, Email, etc. buttons. I sometimes have to press something like mut 4 or 5 times before it responds. But in it's defense, I have only had this thing for about 15 hours, so im hoping theres something that im not understanding regarding the touch controls. The backlit keyboard is a great addition for typing in a dark room. The other issue i have is with the fact that it feels like the keyboard isnt as responsive as i think it should be for the price. if you write out a 1000 character document, you can expect to probably go over it and make upwards of 20 corrections. not because of your own error but because of the fact that if you type crazy fast, the keyboard may not catch all of the things that youre typing. but its fun to use as a scapegoat. so i wanna say now, anything messed up in this review is the keyboards fault. not mine. ;). Too many times have i mistakenly hit the caps lock button rather than the A key. But that may be an error on my part. i dunno. and tis thing is as heavy as HELL! Holy moly. very heavy. But a terrific screen, blazing speed, great useability, and onboard features more than make up for the things like the lack of blu-ray, the weight, and since I honestly think that I will learn how to work with this keyboard, thats almost a non issue. Best keyboard for under $1000, hands down.

"Great deal, beautiful computer" on by mjadamci

Pros: glass screen (like new macbooks), backlit keyboard, sturdy, 320 gig HD, 4 gig RAM, PRICE!

    Cons: HEAVY, shallow buttons, thick

Summary: Paid $629 for this at Best Buy a few days ago. Its the most beautiful computer I've ever owned. Its the sturdiest too. Battery is about 2 hours on full brightness while surfing and basic computing. Screen is bright, backlit keyboard is better than I anticipated. Core2Duo is good. Lots of RAM and HD space. For 630 bucks, This is the best deal ever.

"Great buy for the money....." on by millicanmd

Pros: BACK LIT KEYBOARD - excellent for taking notes in dark classrooms
    Resolution is fantastic
    Speed is amazing
Wireless internet ability is amazing with low signal output and is incredibly fast even with a low signal

Cons: Keyboard travel is shallow - high speed tping doesn't register every keystroke unless you ensure you press directly down on the keys (see, my "y" in "typing" didn't show). Difficult when typing fast.

Summary: Great computer, but if you struggle typing and inputting data which is what a computer is used for, use can be tiring. I am having to lern a new handposition to type on it to use it to ensure I get every keystroke. If this single feature was fixed I would swear by the p.c. I'm debating returning it however. The backlit keyboard is what I really wanted in addition to high speed because I'm often taking notes in dark classrooms, but the hassle of having to retpe and edit constantly when I'm a proficient typist is annoying.

If the keyboard wasn't an issue - I would give it four stars.
HD screen is nice - would be nicer to have a blu-ray dvd player with the HD screen but that would really jack the price up.
