"Good, at what it's made for." on by telmer6
Pros: Reasonably light, comfortable keyboard, perfect track pad, awesome speakers, battery life, screen, durability.
Cons: Touch-sensitive buttons are touchy, not particularly attractive, mediocre CPU.
Summary: This laptop is built for word processing, presentation creation, e-mail, spreadsheets, general MS Office stuff. Using an extended battery, mine can slog through two six hour school days in a row. It is not however, a gaming machine. These struggle to run Minecraft, and are not media editing workstations. (Which explains why KSD put CS4 on them... ?) That said, they are light enough to carry from class to class, the matte screen and backlight let you work even in direct sun, and the speakers are surprisingly good for a laptop. I must question though, the logic of the placement, as when the laptop is in one's lap, they can be quite muted. They're also pretty durable; I've dropped three of them, and not a single one has broken. Having used this computer for three years, I can say that if all you want to do is mobile productivity, it's a good buy. If you want to play games other than Solitare, or edit videos in something other than WMM, you need to look elsewhere.
My config:
CPU: AMD Turion 64x2 @ 2.0 GHz
RAM: 2Gb
Graphics: ATI Radeon X1250

"Appallingly Terrible!" on by aggiemariposa
Pros: absolutely none
Cons: too many to count
Summary: Wireless setup drops network connection any time it feels like it. Other computers in my house do not do this. HP has failed to fix it via many phone calls, sending it away, and having a service tech at my home. This has gone on for almost 2 months. They refused my request for a replacement and were very condescending. Now I have to have ANOTHER service technicial at my house. I'm not optimistic. Apparently this problem is widespread in series 6000 notebooks and a class action lawsuit is going to be filed.

"Never Buy an HP" on by kian777
Pros: I was really excited when I ordered it
Cons: The Computer arrived broken, which forced me to call there tech support which is an experience I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
Summary: I wish I could comment on the computer itself but I can't because the customer service HP offers is so bad. I couldn't believe how bad it was. After my computer arrived broken in the mail I called there tech support line. I was transfered all over the world for about 30 minutes only to be dropped. This happened 3 times!!! I found a video on Youtube that nails what dealing with HP is like. Here it is.
