"Feels like a desktop! With less CRT heft! Yay!"
Pros: I bought this used after a bit of research, including cnet.com. HP often makes a solid desktop and this laptop is no different. The config: 1.7 P-M, 1G RAM/128M ATI Fire GL T2, and combo drive makes this a rich platform for content creation.
Cons: I have been told Vista doesn't play well w/ this machine, and the lack of a 64-bit cpu + separate gpu config is kind of stressful, but since the Pentium-M can be upgraded, along with the hard drive and RAM, shouldn't be obsolete for awhile.
Summary: All in all, this mobile workstation lives up to its name. I am going to enjoy the breathing room the ati gpu is giving me, seeing as my Macbook friends and Qosmio buddies hate their graphics performance. Even four years after it's release, current software and games are tackled by this linebacker of a moblie. The thing is, I want a dual-core laptop, but the integrated graphics 'solution' scares me. I don't want my gpu choking out on me during a presentation using 3-D or video, sound or vector. I need the portable to be able to withstand, structurally speaking, a trip through Gran Prix rush hour traffic. I also want it to be dependable in its software and hardware construction, quiet in meetings and in classes and able to keep a respectable battery charge. Get one today!

Did you eventually update the GPU and processor? Which GPU and processor did you select? I have the same notebook and would be interested in doing the same thing.
