"Perfect Machine for PPT presentations"
Pros: The Best screen I've ever used
Cons: Still trying to find one!
Summary: Having been a huge notebook presentaion guy for years, I was in need of an upgrade to really show off our PPT presentations. I initially tried a refurbed HP ZD8000 and good 'ol HP wouldn't fix it after it fried in less than 9 months - I'm in Canada, the machine came from the US so I take some blame BUT don't buy a refurbed Notebook from ANY manufacturer even if the deal($750) seems good at the time (or so I thought). For me, HP has aleays been a performer - 6 printers, 4 computers, a Jornada, and tons of HP accessories allow me to say that with confidence...
I dove into the new Compaq nx9600 - my 4th notebook and by far the BEST I've ever owned. I don't play games on the machine so that type of performance isn't required here but to play a full video enhanced presentation on this baby is an incredible way to make your company shine. I give this unit a 10 out of 10. BTW, it's not as heavy as everyone said and it fits into my briefcase with no issues. the 17" screen is hard on battery time, I can get 2 hrs of work out of it but I knew that going in. If you need display results and want to show off yuour self, your company, and your presentation, this is the machine. The screen is far better than the 17" DELL machines I looked and the 17" TOSHIBA..
