"This is a much better machine than the reviewer's saying!!!"
Pros: good quick machine with enough software to get you going...
Cons: battery life could be better
Summary: This machine is great for the home user and can hold it's own in the pro arena... i've tried it with high end pro audio applications and it doesn't even blink... make sure your machine has enough ram, and you're off and running.. the wireless card is pretty good... i can pick up so many different signals everywhere i go... amazing. lastly, you get all of the software you need unless specialiazed software is warranted. cd burning, dvd burning, windows works, money 2005, iTunes and more.... it's agreat value!!

I picked this machine up used. It is fast enough for my email/burning/photo printing and networking at home. I travel quite a bit and love the ease that the WiFi searches. It is as smooth as my G4 at work...and cost much less. I wouldn't trade it for a faster machine. Solid and easy to use. You don't need to be an IT to enjoy the features. HP does an excellent job in customer service...response, shipping and clear communication when I called. The card reader is flawless and simple to use. We enjoyed slide shows for the family on our recent vacation in minutes. 6.5 pounds will not break your back. As far as the battery life weakness...buy a larger battery or buy a car/airplane adapter kit if you really need to be working while travelling. You can afford it when you save $1,000 versus the G4!
