"Greeat for the home user, cnet is being too harsh" on by willowoz
Pros: Graphics, boot up time, viewability
Cons: Smart card ejector tab can pop out at times
Summary: I'm stoked. Not being an IT expert, I spent a lot of time researching what was available in Australia before settling on the V4000 (V4002AP - but I think that just means "oz version)
My only concern has been "lock ups" that can't be fixed with CNTRL+ALT+DLT. It appears HP know it is a fault with the optical drive, and hopefully they will do a recall and fix for all those affected. Mine will be fixed under warranty within a couple of days no worries. I'd only put that down as a minor set back for what is a great machine fairly new to the market.
I take it in the field in a padded back pack, and it is robust. The DELL versions work supplies that I would have to use if I didn't have my own would never take the same punishment.
Great unit. DVD's are a dream. Speakers may be tinny - but what do you expect? The sound card more than makes up if you plug in headphones. Games are great too.
