"It's an absolutely foul piece of machinery." on by brucealmighty89
Pros: Initially, this thing was amazing. It worked like a champ when it came to everything that wasn't a very graphics intensive game.
Cons: Overheating! Also, after the 4 months of dream-like performance, it practically self-destructed. The BIOS update killed it, and HP revived it, only to have the sound card die a few months later and then the video card croak a month after that.

"HP Pavilion DVxxxx with NVIDIA chipset" on by arturod58
Pros: Nice look and feel, good CPU.
Cons: Keyboard keys kind of flimsy.
HP Pavilion with NVIDIA chipset - Video portion fails prematurelySummary: Faulty components / no customer support
Warning! There are major problems with the complete line of HP Pavilion with NVIDIA chipset's.
HP knows about the problem (check out the forum on HP?s web site) but they continue to sell these pieces of junk without support.
If you have one of the HP Pavilion DO NOT install the patch NVIDIA recommends, this patch only forces the cooling fan to run continuously which delays the eventual failure of the video portion causing the laptop to become useless past warranty.

"good pc, good design, poor cooling" on by ceg678
Pros: the design is awesome, good for working, fast multitasking thanks to the RAM and can it size made it portable, good keyboard
Cons: volume touch control a mess, overheating problems, average battey life, annoying touch pad
Summary: Still working becasue i realise that the laptop gets too hot so i decided to buy a cooling pad, that saved my laptop of dying, the volume control is totally messed up, when i press it, the laptop stop working until the volume window dissapear from screen, is a fingerprint magnet even the touch pad that is sometimes really annoying, i like the keyboard, because you can't see that the keys star to shine after typing for months on it (some "mate" keyboards see too glossy after typing).
Is not the best, because it has a lot of issues, but it's price is ok for a laptop that works good when you got the properly accesories, and is true that the laptop maybe stop working soon -
