"worked AWESOME, then it caught fire, TECH SUPPORT SUX!!"1.5 starson by summagun
Pros: crazy fast! size is perfect, battery = AWESOMESAUCE, slick look, HUGE Hard Drive, nice bright screen, the wifi range is better then my friend's laptop (te-he). great cooling with battery pack out. many cooling vents.
Cons: large battery makes it awkward to put into bookbag. glossy finish is a MAGNET for fingerprints. keys felt spaced out, HOT with battery pack in. ow ya and IT CAUGHT ON FIRE IN FRONT OF ME!! read summery for details.
Summary: phenomenal machine in my opinion executed programs like a pro. i put this thing to the test playing the likes of masseffect(setting: med graphic), oblivion(setting: med graphic), mirrors edge(setting: max graphics), Call of duity:world at war(setting: med graphic), world of warcraft (setting: med-max graphics), and while playing one of the listed games id switch out to google crome check a vidoe out on youtube, check on my email, and be running bittorrent. those are 5 programs, some a heavier process load, running as if they were the only programs active. bottom line this thing has POWER!hp's customer service SUX A BIG ONE
here's the kicker though, mine caught on fire, right at the hinge when the screen meets the keyboard. yes thats right it was so badass that the phyical components could not contain its raw awesome-nicity. but all jokeing aside a flame about the length of a dollar folded in half was visiable. it even burned my thumb.
now im no fool when it comes to computers im a tech kid, im in collage and i know how to keep a machine clean and pristine, and i did so for 5 months. then this happens. for no reason, nobody has messed with it i know that for a fact. i have not tried to clock it or anything, just using the device that HP designed to it capabilities.
and then i go to look up HP tech supports number online, and i see on bad rewiew, i click on it for curosity sake, the im overwhelmed with so many post's about how terrible HP customer service is and not just from one site, i had a plethora to choose from, all flaming on how horrid HP is with tech support. at that point i get nervous as i feel the impending doom, that i am now in the midst of.
so i call with the idea that this will be iffy, and of course i get some one who i can HARDLY understand because of a thick accent. all the regular questions are asked like : whats ur email, name, phone, then you are asked again, and again and again .......and then AGAIN. and every time they replete what you say every time. and its not like i called once, i called then 5 times, five m07|-|3rfu(ki|\|g and each time more than an hour long. .....but w8 it gets worse.
so they have my info from the first time i called and said they would call me back in 24hrs. 27 hours pass and no call. i call them back they have no record of my case so i tell them again what happend and now they realize, ow our product burned him DEAR BUDDHA HES GONNA SUE US, so they elevate the case (which can only be done once BTW). and tell me that a team will come out to my house and just make it all better, we set up a time. next day NO FREEKING TEAM SHOWS UP. i call back tell them my case number and they STILL DONT HAVE MY CASE ON FILE. ok now im pissed off i just tell them have a nice day and hang up B/C i know im just gonging to yell which will get me no where fast. call back when i have the will to endure my frustration and redo the whole process name email phone... they say ok were going to elevate the case (they have said this 2 times to me already mind you) and id be getting a case manager. ok cool i have made progress. they give me a number i write it down i make shure im hearing what they say, and we both know that case number. next i get a number to call, im told to give them my case number. ok. callnumber, and THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF MY CASE!!!!!!!!!!!! i literally S|-|iT bricks. they take all info again and tell me they would call me back, and on the 5th time they finally did call back. i spoke to a native, english speeking person who i could clearly understand and spoke as if he was a real human. we cracked jokes and such, and actually told me that if i had to call back 5 times, that is some S|-|iTyy service.
so thats where i am now in limbo w8ing for a service team to come tomorrow and get the wheels moving. im going to ask for a full refund of the product because if i have to deal with HP's customer support again i just might thow a lawsuit in there face.
